Thermage gets a bad rap online at message boards. I know this because I was firmly against the idea of getting Thermage based on my online research.

But my dermatologist was convincing and encouraged me that I would get good results since I only needed some measure of tightening, not a "** virtual facelift ** like you see advertised by bad docs.

The treatments did hurt more than I anticipated, even after using the numbing ointment, but I've had worse.

After 3 sessions I began to notice some improvements and skin tightening. Now that it's been several months since my last treatment, I think the improvements are real. Nothing super dramatic, just that I did appear more refreshed, fewer signs of facial folds (I hate that term!).

Definitely talk to your derm before doing this, so your expectations are set correctly for such an expensive treatment.

That could run abuot $6,000 to $10,000 - now that's ridiculous!! I had thermage done about 4 years ago - when I say "subtle" results - I mean "subtle" - I actually had to have my doctor show me the before/after pics because a few months after the procedure beause I was a bit disappointment that I did not see "dramatic" results - but when I viewed my photos it was visible that thermage "helped" - it's not a wonder treatment - I think this procedure is good on women in their 30s looking to tighten their skin - I would not go into the treament with "high expectations" because you will be disappointed. Read up on the procedure thoroughly - the message boards are very very discouraging - why? Thermage is for a very small group of people who have a thin face and are in the very early stages of wrinkles/skin sagging - very very early stages. Themage pretty much makes you looked well "rested" - if you expect anymore than that you need to look into a facelift - it's expensive and hurts like hell. I had the topical gel put on, two percocets and a pill for anxiety (don't recall the name) and I felt every bit of the pain regardless of how much medication I was on). Anyhow...it's time for me to go get a "well rested" treatment today - yes...today. I am on my way to my thermage appointment and you know I have these great expectations right? I will post tomorrow.
