I had a revision rhinoplasty done a month ago and i discovered i have a perforated septum im the back part of the septum. Would a septoplasty help fix this problem? I heard whistling 48 hrs after having the splints removed but thought it was just from the swelling or nasal obstruction but i had a big booger come out the other day and saw some blood clots in it and did a some investgating with a light and saw the light through the other nostril
I had my septorhinoplasty on 16th Dec,2018 and my cast was removed on 1st Jan, 2019. After the surgery I had unexplained high fever for a week. Now after over a month, I can see there is a scar, a bump on my septum and also my nose has become crooked and bigger than before. Should I be concerned or keep my patience?
I went to my 2 wk post op and everything seemed good. The dr sucked a lot of mucus out and said everything looks like its healing good. Well I blew my nose tonight (I thought this was fine being almost 30 days po) & now I have a stitch hanging a half inch out of my left nostril. At first I thought it was a booger and pulled on it with tissue. I tugged gently and it is still connected somewhere deep in my nose. Should I cut it? I have no bleeding from tugging on it. What should I do?
Hi, I recently had a septoplasty, turbinectomy and rhinoplasty one month ago. This was because I couldn't breath at night. I'm doing the nasal irrigation flushes everyday as recommended. After the surgery until now which is 3 weeks post op, I find that I sneeze a few times a day which never used to happen. I have moderate eye bags though my eyes do not water. My nose feels sensitive at times. Apparently the whole two turbinates were resected. I'm not allergic to anything. What's going on?
I have had a septoplasty the 7th August and it was a success, today I've been in the pool and i hit my nose with a mask, my nose is swelling and red and the nose bridge is bigger so I applied some ice. I'm so worried cause it can stay permanent? Please give me an advice on what I have to do as soon as possible. Thank you very much
Hi! I had septal reconstruction with rib graft one month ago and since then I feel that I don't breath enough air especially when I lay down to sleep. After this happens I start to yawn, suffocate and have rapid heartbeat. It first happened the first days after surgery, then I felt ok and after one month the suffocating feeling came back. What should I do? My doctor told me everything went fine with the surgery.
It has been 4 weeks since I had sinus surgery and a septoplasty. I have been doing nasal rinses with neilmed 4 times a day and am still on flixonase nasule drops. In the past few days I have been getting bad headaches behind eyes and pain when bending over along with yellow discharge down back of my throat. I dont think its infected as have no other symptoms such as bad smell or fever. Is this normal? Is it likely to be infection? Should I still be getting sinus headaches now? Thanks
At about a month the doctor said my nose appears to be bending back again and that the cartilage has memory. He suggested that a few times daily I bend the cartilage slightly toward the other direction. Does this sound correct? How many times would you recommend daily and how long to hold the nose?
Hello, I had my deviated septum reconstructed about one month ago. As the pain and sensitivity has tapered off and I have returned to work, I have noticed a significant boost in my energy levels during the day, particularly in the morning. I have a labour intensive job and have noticed I am not nearly as tired as I usually am. Can this type of surgery have these effects? Is it all in my head? I'm 33 and I cannot remember when I've physically felt this good. I'm 6' tall 190 lbs physically fit.
I underwent inferior turbinates reduction + septoplasty just over 4 weeks ago. I've been rinsing 3 times a day using NeilMed. For my midday rinse today towards the end of the second bottle, a large(ish) lump of discharge came out that's roughly the size of a thumb nail. I picked it up and could feel there was a boney piece(s) in the discharge and after holding it under running water I could see a piece of cartilage(?) Is this normal and should I be concerned? Thank you!
