Hi, I recently had laser treatment to breakdown a blue vein under my right eye. The treatment has worked fine, and removed the vein - however my eyebag feels a little heavier and puffier than usual, is this normal .. and is it just fluid retention/swelling following on from the laser treatment? How long will it be until it subsides ? Thanks
I recently had GSV ablation done on both legs (L leg a little over a week go, and the R leg three days ago). I have swelling on the inner knee in both legs and am curious how long this can last. I dont have a ton of pain, bruising, or discomfort, so Im hoping this is a normal side effect that will diminish as time goes by.
Both legs done, 1 side I wear a compression bandage on it and is looking good but the other side just had 1 spot done and the doctor just wrapped it, this side is noticeably more swollen. When can I begin to expect to see the swelling start to go down? I do levitate that leg but it really doesnt make much of a difference.
I had a laser treatment almost 3 weeks ago to remove blue veins from my temples and under my eyes. The treatment seems fairly successful in getting rid of the reticular veins. However, I am still dealing with unwanted side effects. I now have new bags / puffiness under my eyes as well as dilated visible capillaries. I am afraid that the laser has permanently damaged my delicate skin under the eyes. I wasnt worried at 10 days, but I find it hard to imagine swelling lasting this long.
This is my third treatment for my varicose veins. I have never had this side effect before. Now I would like to get multiple opinions on this because I am worried. The doctor said it is just swelling and will go down but I am reading online this brown area on the skin could last for months. For the record this happened the next day I had the injections
Hospital have given me steroids to reduce swelling as whole face including eyes are swollen badly. There is a lot of localised redness and blisters on cheeks. Will thus scar?
I have enquired with a few surgeons regarding removing these veins and while some say laser ablation has a higher success rate than sclerotherapy, others say a staged approach of separate sessions using hypertonic saline sclerotherapy is better? The laser ablation ismore expensive, but if the sclerotherapy does not work, maybe laser is the answer? Also, is 'recanalisation' a risk with either procedure? In hot weather i get discomfort/swelling in my hands due to the blood pooling in the veins.
It's been 24 hours post sclerotherapy. I'm wearing my compression tights as prescribed for at least another 48 hours, but when I pull them down to use the restroom, I notice (among the anticipated bruising) a couple inch in diameter spots that seem swollen and tender to the touch. Is this normal? If so, when should I expect it to dissipate?
