Our 2.5 yo daughter landed herself in the ER a couple of weeks ago for a nasal laceration. The wound is closed up now, and we'd like to use something to relieve tension on the scar. Embrace won't work because of its location (and it's actually L shaped - and also her nose is tiny), micropore won't stay on well because of the contours of her nose. We were given steri strips for this purpose, but we wanted to be able to remove them frequently to reapply the silicone gel. What do you suggest?
I ran and scraped my knee pretty badly and then it turned into a keloid afterwards. I see most people that have keloids on their ear, they tied a rubber band/string around it and it came off within a week but my keloid is on my knee. So can I tie a rubber band/string on the keloid ON my KNEE or is there some kind of way I can remove it without surgery.
My 3-yr-old daughter's pediatrician sent her to the E.R. for a repair of a gash on her forehead.The on-duty physician said there was no need to use a plastic surgeon and used Dermabond and a steri-strip to close the wound.After 2 wks. the wound looks terrible with a depression between the wound edges.Should the dr. have used stitches? When should we consider scar revision? Will a scar revision make the scar look as good as it would have looked if it had been repaired correctly the first time?
My 2 year old daughter fell on a toy with a sharp edge 4 weeks ago. It was deep but I didn't take her to the ER because it stopped bleeding after 5 minutes or so.I didn't think it needed stiches but now I don't know if it would have helped to get them because there is a scar there now.I want to remove it or at least improve it because its right on her cheek on the front of her beautiful face. Will it fade over time naturally? I'm using mederma and silicone pads. What more can I do?
My 4 year old daughter has a flat hyperpigmentation scar that occurred from a fingernail scratch on her cheek about 6 months ago. She is a lighter tone african indian American .After healing the scar was white, within a couple of weeks turned brown and is still visible. What product do you recommend to help lighten the scar or will it fade with time.
Hi, I am 14 (almost 15) years old. I am about 5'0 and the doctors say I'm not going to get much taller. At birth I had Meconium ileus and have a scar right above my belly button going about 5-inches across my stomach. I also have a scar right above that, that is about 1-inch long from a feeding tube. My mom and I have been discussing taking me to a plastic surgeon for a while now. I was just wondering if it is possible to make the scar less noticeable or possible to get rid of it?
My 3-year-old daughter has had her third facial laceration on her left eye, above her eyebrow. The first doctor told us to apply neosporin on the stitches to reduce scarring and this morning, another doctor instructed us not to use anything. What is the best way to minimize the scar that will develop?
For years now I have had these disgusting scars located beneath my belly button area. Ive searched google and no one seems to address this issue. When I was little, I began shaving. I shaved everywhere. I had developed ingrown hair on my tummy and after the hairs were plucked, these scars made them self at home on my stomach. At the age 17 now, I find myseld extremely self consious of these black marks. Please help and assist me in ridding these stomach bullies!! Thank you sooooo much!!
The scar is about a month old and is still a little red. About the size of an adults finger nail clipping. A small metal pipe poked into his skin above his lip just under his nose. Just about where his mustash would grow if he was an adult. I put neosporan on it till the scab fell off and then started using Mederma faithfully. I am real upset about my sone face. Will it strech over time somewhere else on his face?
