I have a bulbous nose with thick skin that I'm planning to get surgery on to fix. My side profile nose tip is blunt and has more of a c shape. Will reducing the size of my nose tip make my nose side profile look more defined/ pointy?
Hello: I want to perform a rhinoplasty for cosmetic issues to obtain more symmetry in my nose. I have consulted different doctors. My main stopper is that I have thick skin, I know it can affect final results but the main stopper is that it seems I can have swelling up to 2 years after procedure. In this moment I am not sure what implies rhinoplasty swelling.
Hi, last friday I had my official consultation for my upcoming thick-skin rhinoplasty. In the treatment plan it was said that due to the thickness of my dermal layer, to achieve a visible result, crystalline cortisone needs to be injected 12 weeks before the operation and then again after. I read that after crystalline cortisone injctions, the nose becomes impossible to operate on, which my surgon refutes. But I need a second opinion. Will I be unable to revision the rhinoplasty after?
I am 6 months after surgery. My surgeon has told me I will take 2 years to heal as I have thick skin. He said that this is common and suggested a steroid injection to speed up my healing. He said I cannot get this injection in London. However, I am skeptical about this. Can perichondrium and fascia alone be used to augment the dip? Is there any risk of uneven resorption with this in the future? Can I be certain that it will provide a stable, long term result for my lifetime?
I got a rhinoplasty 12 months ago and I think my nose has gotten worse over time than better. I had a pretty ok front profile with a hump which i wanted to get removed. Now My front profile is much worse than before and my bridge and tip are reall big and wide. My surgeon says I have thick skin but during our consultation he said I had thin skin which I believe i do. I just need someone to tell me if its really swollen or this is how my nose will look.
The query's been raised many times but the answers weren't sufficient. R there non-surgical ways to reduce nasal skin on tip? My nose's always been slightly boxy and pointy, but still cute. It got swollen, oily and much bigger in adolescence but I don't thing I have Rhinophyma. Sometimes it's slimmer, so maybe it can be improved? I know about retinoids, laser dermabrassion, steroids, but need more info. Thermage maybe? I want only 5-10% reduction, nothing dramatic.
I had an open rhinoplasty 14 months ago. I have thick skin and wanted a more defined less bulbous tip. My nose looks much better from the side but from the front there is not huge improvement. Could i Still have some swelling? When i wear a nose clip my nose looks better after. Do i need wait longer for final result or is this as good as it gets? Should i get massaging and using my nose clip?
Im almost 6 months post op from primary rhino. I have thick skin. Theres been a weird shadow appearing on the right side of my nose that has been really bothering me that is very noticeable in certain lightings that makes my bridge look interrupted. My surgeon said once everything heals maybe we could do filler but Im very disappointed and sad. It wasnt there before.
Thank you @Dr. Ronald J Edelson for always answering my questions! I was hoping I could get lots of opinions here... Why don't we investigate the administration of triamcinolone to thick skin nasal tip using tattoo equipment (MMP or Microinfuso de Medicamentos na Pele technique)? Would reach dermis only, and microdosing would likely evenly thin this layer without irregular skin atrophy/dents. Has been successfully tried for alopecia areata. No harm to skin.
