I love my side profile. But front the front the sides of my bridge is still very swollen on side more than the other. I didnt have splints in my nose after the surgery would that have caused my nose not the recovery properly? Would this swelling still reduce in the next few months?
In what situations do you recommend your patients to tape their noses after rhinoplasty and splint removal. Is this when you perform some specific techniques/changes OR do you ask ALL your patients to tape their nose OR just one with specific skin types? How easy/difficult is for the patient to do this on their own? Would it be better if the patient kept the splint ON for longer instead of taping?
I have an oily nose and the thought of having it in a splint for a week after surgery is uncomfortable. Is there any medication/oil absorption stuff that doctors can put on the nose post surgery and while the splint is ON? At what point can one wash their NOSE after surgery? In my case, should I expect pimples right after week 1 as my nose will be wrapped in splint for a week?
Hello, I had closed rhinoplasty done on 23 May this year. I am now over 3 weeks post op & have been taking photos every day. I've noticed that my nose looks bigger now than it did when the split & bandages came off. Is this because they were holding the swelling down? It also looked more concave than it does now. Will my nose eventually look more like it did when the bandage came off or will it look more like it does now? I've uploaded photos from post op day 7, 8 & 10 & then week 3 Thanks
Is the nose closest to its future/final shape and size the moment the splint is taken off after surgery? I assume nose is under compression for these early days and swells up post splint removal?
I had primary rhynoplasty about 10.5 months ago. This is not right and it's looked like this as soon as the splint came off. Is there anything that can be done to fix it and what's wrong. I don't think it's swelling at this point? 46 year old female, 52, 120 pounds, normal to oily skin.
Why do some doctors advise the patients to continue taping the nose after splint removal while others do not? What is causing the difference in opinion? Also, how long after splint removal should one tape the nose nightly? Thanks! :)
I had rhinoplasty 2.5 weeks ago and right after my splint was removed (6 days post op) my son hit my nose with his head. I went to the doctors office and they said they thought it was fine but there was still post op swelling. Nothin popped or hurt after nor did I have any bruising or bleeding. But my swelling appeared to be uneven and now Im worried that he shifted something. I have a follow up at 4 weeks post op. If he did shift the cartilage can it be moved back without surgery?
