Considering a rhinoplasty this year. I understand that surgeons recommend using saline post op. My issue is when I use a saline I become very sneezy and nose becomes itchy on tthe inside (almost allergy type feeling). What can I do to minimize discomfort caused by saline post op? Are there specific types of saline that are better?
I had cadaver cartilage used during the procedure and some reshaping of the bone. This AM, I sneezed hard through my mouth, and even though I didn't sneeze through my nose, I feel like something in my nose shifted. I could be imagining this, hard to tell because of the swelling. Dr also cleaned the inside of nose & removed cast yesterday . My question is, can you damage the result of rhinoplasty by sneezing through your mouth 8 days post-op? If so, why?
Had a tiny hole for a few months in right nostril, it isnt sore, I recall pulling scabs away from this area. Is it possible to damage the skin this way and it to take this long to heal. Sometimes it looks like it is healing but I sneeze or sniff and it appears again. Also the tiniest amount of Vaseline will cover it. I do not do cocaine.
Hi, It has been almost 5-6 weeks since I've had a rhinoplasty, 2 weeks ago I started getting a cold, and up to now I have been sneezing through my moth loudly every now and then. As a result I have tried to cleared my mucus gently with a cotton swab. I did make the cotton on the cotton swab smaller just to not make one nostril bigger than the other? Is it bad, is it going to make my nose bigger? My doctor never recommended a solution to clean my nose with.
I had rhinoplasty about 3 1/2 weeks ago. I have been sneezin and coughing. Yesterday there was something sticking out of my nose. I thought it was a little mucus however it turns out to be part of my stitch in the inside of the upper tip of my nose. It was long so I cut what was sticking out of my nose and left the rest of it. And now I see a little stitch coming out on my right nostril. I've been coughing a lot but have taking cough drops to control it. What do I do?
Hello all! I have questions regarding my nose. I feel like I might have a deviated septum because I have trouble breathing (I have to flare my nostrils to breathe somewhat clearly) and I sneeze very often and multiple times in a row at that. My nose does not even remotely resemble that of anybody in my family.I guess I just want to know if you think it might be fixable. Also, can septoplasty be covered by insurance while also improving the appearance?
