I had the rhinoplasty last 2012. Went on without any pain. Then late 2016, I began experiencing facial pains, specifically on my nose, forehead, etc. daily. Ive been taking nerve pain meds since then to control the pain but i still feel some. I went to an ENT and he said my sinuses were very red (swolllen?). Dont know the cause. I had a CT scan and nothing there was the cause too. Now im thinking if the implant could be causing the pain? Maybe it has become infected? Thanks in advance.
I had gotten a closed rhinoplasty more than a year ago where they put in a silicone implant in my nose bridge and used ear cartilage for my nose tip. A couple months after the procedure, I noticed my nose cartilage was poking out thru my nostrils. My doctor said its normal and its the ear cartilage pushing against the original nose cartilage. However, I get stinging pain thru that nostril sometimes and it feels diff breathing thru it even until now. Id like a second opinion pls.
I did my silicon/rib rhinoplasty in nov 2022 in korea and im very happy with the results. But i recently noticed that my septum is swollen. ive seen ent on 22 september and put on a 14 day antibiotics and topical omniment but its not getting better. i can feel pain when i touch the tip and part of my bridge. is my rhinoplasty infected?
1. I just wanted to know whether silicone gel stimulates collagen production or it inhibits it? 2. Therefore does it make your skin thicker or thinner? 3. Also what are ways that I can safely thin my skin, not make it thicker and irritated?)
In 1997, I had nasal surgery in which a silicone implant was placed on my nasal bridge. I think my septal cartilage grafts dissolved over time, only on one side and now that implant appears as a bump. I have had facial X-rays and CT scans for other reasons and I don't see the silicone implant in my nose.
Hi, I had nose silicone implant 3 years ago and Im 6 months pregnant now. The skin around my nose is getting thinner and red and the silicone implant is sticking out inside of my nose. It feels weird when I touch my nose tip and I think its infected. Is there anything I can do to delay this process until the baby is born? Or can I get my nose implant removed under local anesthesia? Im really stressed now. Thank you
Hi Doctors, One month ago, I got a open rhinoplasty with alarplasty. However, no bones were broken. My nose bridge was enhanced with silicone implant and my tip was enhanced with my ear cartilage. I also had my alar reduced. Right now, there is not much swelling left and all incisions are healing well. I am now 4 weeks post-operation and was thinking if it is okay to smoke? Will smoking affect my final result? I know smoking is bad but I deal with anxiety and it calms me down.
I've had my silicone nose implant for about 4 years now and I have never had any complications with it. Though my friends tell me that I have to replace it every 10 years. how true is this? is it necessary to replace it?
I had primary rhinoplasty done only a month ago: Tip plasty (septal & ear cartilage) + I-implant (2mm). Now the skin around my nose, near my eyes is red and sore when I touch it, could it be possible infection? 1. If yes, how soon would I have to remove the implant? 2. Is it possible to remove the implant without replacing it? I dont mind a slightly lower bridge. But since the implant must be connected with the tip, would it have to be rebuild if the implant is taken out with no replacement.
