Hello, im a 19 year old male and i got closed rhinoplasty last year in may in turkey. my nose had a big bump and it turned out to be broken. but the surgeon made it 10x worse. I saw the crookedness immediately at cast off (1 week post op), but he told me it was swelling and it would subside. After 6 months i asked how it was still crooked, he told me one of the bones had shifted. Is this easily fixable? should i go for revision? i had done everything my doc asked me to.. what should i do
In 2015, I had a rhinoplasty/septoplasty to help with breathing. I did not have any complications. Just over the past few days on the inside of one nostril it is extremely sore and I can feel a sharp edge which I think is a spreader graft. Is it possible for this to shift after so much time? thank you
Updated: 5 years ago, I had a columella strut graft (made from cadaver cartilage) placed in the tip of my nose in order to increase projection. Recently, I wiped the side of my mouth with the back of my hand, and in doing so, I felt the graft shift for a moment before snapping back into place. Is it possible that the graft permanently shifted? If so, would a surgeon be able to reposition the graft back to the same exact position it was in before it shifted? or would there be some variation? Thanks!
I always push and bend my nose in the opposite direction that it bends towards to see if I could make it a bit straighter or to simulate rhinoplasty. I was looking at pictures from a couple years ago and my nose looks bigger and more crooked now than before(I'm 19 so it's possible it's just growing). I'm wondering if the bending can cause my cartilage damage (bending, swelling, inflammation or nasal polyps) or cause my nose to droop or grow out of shape especially because I'm young.
Surgery was in late August, so I am around 4 months post op. There is asymmetrical swelling on the right side, which I know is normal. However, I know what is NOT normal is how the cartilage implant (from my septum) at the tip of my nose shifted to the right. I understand scar tissue inside the nose can pull the cartilage more to one side than the other. I would like to get other doctors perspectives on if I would need a revision before I see my doctor in January? Thanks.
My nose hurt for a few min after and swelled up. No bleeding/bruising. I haven't been squishing my nose so this is a first. Most of the swelling is gone (2nd day). I can touch it without any out of the ordinary discomfort. The side that had more work done on it feels swollen on the inside. I feel like when I look at my bridge it appears to slant a little. I'm not sure if it's swelling or if some damage may have actually occurred... My nose did appear slightly slanted post-op due to swelling...
Hi there. Been four months since septorhinoplasty with septum straightening, spreader graft, minor tip work, turbinate reduction, minor bridge work (rasping on left and cartilage on right to even out), no osteomy. After four months of recovery, can the cartilage used for spreader graft, tip work or minor bridge work move with physical manipulation or are they solid and completely attached by this time? Really appreciate your answers.
I accidentally scrunched my nose really hard 4 days post op. There was pain in the bridge area when in happened but went away. But now the right side of the nose feels very sore and numb. Could I have damaged my nose or shifted something??
or are the asymmetries (osteomoties and collapsed upper lateral cartilage) as shown on picture the results of my surgeon's own work? i did not hit my nose nor did I have an infection. everything was normal. can swelling shift nasal bones or cartilages? I had an open primary rhinoplasty 1 year ago.
