Hi, I'm in my 20's, fit & healthy, no smoking/drinking, never had surgery. I've contacted 8 surgeons, 6 said I'm a good candidate, 2 said no. One that said no said they don't think they'd make enough difference to warrant surgery, other said due to nose & skin structure there can't be much change. Why do you think they said no? Does my nose look suitable for rhinoplasty? I don't want slim defined nose, just shorter without droopy tip, nicer slope
I had a Rhinoplasty performed in 2017. The surgery was to file down the 'hump' in my nose, and try to correct the slight deviation. Cartilage was taken from my ear and added to the nose tip. Now all the swelling has gone, i can feel the cartilage edge at the rostral tip. If i stretch my face, i get a white line where the cartilage sits under the skin. Is this a sign my body is trying to get rid of the cartilage or is this due to skin thickness etc? Would i see rejection 5yrs post-op?
I got silicone in my nose 15yrs ago and got infection and doctor remove it right away, but as for my breast I been having my silicone implant for 11yrs now. Is it possible for the body to actully do this? I am asking this becuse I wanted to give my nose another try, but I dont know what to use for my bridge because silicone on the nose is more define then using Autologous tissue. I really dont want to have another infection with my nose if I decided on silione. Please help thank you.
Im getting Rhinoplasty and my Plastic Surgeon has said he can put either permanent sutures /stitches inside my nose or dissolvable ones. I hear that permanent ones would potentially help keep the nose in place better that dissolvable ones but they could get infected (although he says that's unlikely) or potentially be rejected by the body. Please can you advise me on the best choice or the most common choice? Thank you!
I had a reconstructive rhinoplasty in 2006. since I have very thick mucus which is only resolved with Affrin although I know this cannot be a permanent solution. I am very congested constantly on the left side of my nose where the spreader graft was placed. As well as swelling inside of my nose which sends pain to my upper teeth. The graft came from cadaver skin. Could this be a result? I tried Flonase and no relief. I just wonder if my nose is allergic to the graft, is this a possibility?
My body is rejecting the silicone implant. The doc said that if I want the same results as my new nose, I will have to have goretex for my nose bridge & ear cartilage for my tip. The thing about that is the goretex is also a foreign body. But with using my ear cartilage, there are less risks, but my nose bridge will not be as high. Should I take the risk again and get the goretex+ cartilage or just cartilage. Will using just cartilage still buildup a good about for a nose bridge?
