Hello, I have been asking myself this question for the longest time. I saw that some people who get a rhinoplasty can develop a callus post op. This callus can be rasped down with a local anesthesia procedure. Normally when taking down a bump on the nose, osteotomies are done to close the open roof deformity, but why arent osteotomies required when rasping down a callus post op? Thank you for your answers.
I'm 24 year old, never had any procedure, my only problem is a slight hump on the top of my nose, it is small but I hate it. Is there any way it can be only rasped under local anesthesia without breaking my nose and having a big surgery? And as a plastic surgeon do you consider my nose to be nice looking or does it need work done ? And is this bone or cartilage ? I need your advice please

I had primary rhinoplasty about 7 months ago. Already at the one-month mark, I noticed irregularities on the bridge and flagged it to my surgeon. He said it would smooth out, but it hasn't, so last week I got steroid injections, however ever since then the bumps are looking worse and much more prominent than a week ago. I'm very concerned and not sure what's going on. Could it be scar tissue, a callus. Will rasping solve this?
I have gone through a closed rhinoplasty 3 months ago , everything looked fine one week post op , however now i notice a bump on the left side of my nose , im sure its not swelling as it feels like bone and i have already had a bump in the same place before op . I want to fix it but im not sure if i need a revision rhino or it can be rasped under local anesthesia or a simple filler injection ?
I had in office rasping done 9 months ago to correct a small hump from an injury years ago. I love my right profile, but my left side shows the small dip, I dont mind the dip, but its pronounced on the left side making it look uneven. What is my best solution? -More rasping? -More time to heal? -Orcartilage graft? (I dont want to do this) -Permenant filler? Thank you!
I got a closed rhinoplasty in 2019 to remove a dorsal hump. A callus formed over where the bump previously was, and after unsuccessful treatment with steroid injections and massages I decided to go back to my surgeon for a nasal rasping touch up in 2020. its been 2 years since then and now the original, and a new callus have formed on the bridge and near my forehead. will another rasping procedure make this worse? do i need a full revision?
