Its been a year and 3 months since my rhinoplasty and my nose feels dry often . I have to constantly clean it with a q-tip to clean out the dried mucus. I feel like I have to blow my nose due to the feeling of my nose feeling blocked. During, cold weather it gets runny and when I cry my nose produces a lot of mucus making it hard to breathe. I feel like my nasal airways are blocked and feel relief once I use a q-tip to remove crusting in nose. Will this improve with time ?
I've been cleaning my nose with a q-tip gently inside around the tip, typically with nasal saline spray diluted with hydrogen peroxide to clean up the dried blood / crusts. I went up a little high a couple times because there was a big blood clot.. I try to be careful and gentle but I was wondering if I could possibly be damaging anything? I haven't gotten any alarming pain, bleeding or anything. My Dr. didn't really mention a q-tip but he did say to rinse with nasal saline spray.
I had rhinoplasty three weeks ago. After my cast was taken off (2 weeks post op) I started using q-tips to clean the inside of my nose. I went a little bit further than the actual tip, but not too much. I wasnt aware that I was not supposed to do this, and since I found out it was wrong I stopped. There was never any bleeding, pain or discomfort while I did it. Do you think this will have any impact on my final results? Is it possible that I shifted or affected the surgeons work to my nose?
Ever since I had my nose done the mucus build up in my nose has been pretty bad. When I blow my nose it helps a lot but I have to use q-tips to remove most of the mucus from my nose, is blowing my nose and using q-tips in my nose damaging my final results?
I had surgery a week ago and i was wondering if i need to be keeping my nostrils clean of any dry blood and what problems it would cause if im not doing it everyday. I got my cast off today and i have dry blood on the outside of my nose should i just use a qtip with hotwater to rub it off?. Also what should i put on the q tips to do clean them with.
5weeks post op from a rhinoplasty. Everyday since my surgery I have been using Q tips to gently clean the inside of my nose such as mucus but I don't really go deep in there. i don't know any other way to clear the mucus. my doctor said it was okay for me to use Qtips to remove the mucus. I use Saline nasal spray before inserting the Qtips. With my Q tips, I use water & an ointment, not hydrogen peroxide because it burns. I just want to know do Q tips ruin the results of my nose? I'm worried
Its been a week now that i had my closed rhinoplasty, i have a huge ball of dried mucus attached to blood crust in both of nostril i presume that its where the incisions are so im scared that by pulling them out my incision will re-open but i cant breath by my nostril and its really uncomfortable. Its so far in the nostril that im not able to properly put onguents with a q-tip to soften up.. what should i do ?
I had my pre op apt for a rhino but all I was given was a form with medical care supplies to buy for after surgery. List included: gauze, peroxide, Neosporin, and qtips but they failed to explain what I need to do with these things. The apt was rushed and I did not have the time to ask the questions I wanted. I was told I would see my nose for the first time 1wk later. So what are all these supplies for then?
I am really scared . Today i was cleaning my nose with qtips and peroxyde like doctoe advised me to every other day . And this huge and hard booger came out . There was no following bleeding but i am scared that i took out a nose part or something . Is this possible ? Please help i am terrified as it's really hard and crispy :(
I'm 10 days post-op internal rhinoplasty with no grafts/impants. There was a blood clot no deeper than the end of a q-tip, so I pulled it out with tweezers. No bleeding (to my knowledge) occurred and it didn't hurt. I can finally breathe from that nostril again, but now I'm really worried!
