In my consultation, it was suggested the use of a suture between the septum and the columella to slightly correct the nasolabial angle. Using this technique, will the tip have similar flexibility as it had before surgery (moving up and down)? Is this the kind of surgery that the tip is expected to drop in the post surgery? Also, Im worried that the tip become immovable, having no motion while talking or smiling, since this could make it look unnatural.
I felt my nose graft move, now I feel pain - 5 years ago, I had a columella strut graft (made from cadaver cartilage) placed in my nose in order to increase projection. Recently, I wiped the side of my mouth with my hand, and in doing so, I felt the graft move for a moment, which caused pain. My surgeon said it looks fine, but I still feel pain in the region circled in the picture, especially when I look downward. What could be causing the pain? Thanks in advance!
I had Rhinoplasty only 2 months ago, i had it done because my nose had been smashed not broken for about 8 years, the doctors said i had to wait til i was a certain age for my nose to stop growing. I was wondering why the tip of my nose is a little hard? and will i ever be able to move it again?
I had a bridge reduction and shortening of a hanging columella. I am two years post-op. My nose bridge is much wider than it was before surgery and it looks like the bone was scooped out of the middle. I thought it was just wide from the swelling but then the swelling subsided and I realized it was the bone. My surgeon says he doesnt break the bone so I dont think osteotomies were performed, but he claims my nasal bones moved outward during healing is that even possible?
I did the massage my doctor showed me every day (started 1 moth ago with the massage) and my nose was perfectly straight..When I massaged the nose I always used to push the tip of my nose up to lift it because I doesn't want to push it down during the massage.... Now I have in the cartilage area close to the nose tip a very small bumb... Is it possible that I moved the cartilage as I always lift my nose tip up? It didn't use a lot of pressure to lift it.
When I say move, I mean like goofily as we all sometimes do. Like, scrunch up your nose, or move it around with your hands, make it look like a pigs, etc. Can one even do such things with their nose again without risking ruining your nose after getting a rhinoplasty?
I had my cast removed 7 days after. Can the bones be pulled out during this process? Unfortunately my surgeon was pushing very hard on my right side of nose after removing cast. At least, it felt hard. And a pocket of blood began to form and swell. He had to re-cast me. He has never seen this happen before. It looked skinny in original cast and now looks much wider. I hope it is swelling but I'm concerned the bone moved as well. Does this happen?
Every time I talk or smile with my lips closed together the tip of my nose moves quite a lot. I have a long and wide nose but I dont mind its shape when it is not moving. I DON'T wanna have to undergo rhinoplasty. I read that cutting the depressor muscle can stop this movement. But I am afraid that after cutting it my nose will change its shape. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.
