I am a 37 y/o women who had a rhinoplasty in July of 2023. In the beginning, about a month after I had an infection and was treated with antibiotics. After everything was good and I was in love with the shape of my new nose. However, within last few months I realized that the tip dropped and it changed its shape. Plus, it has been two days I feel pulsing near the sides of my nose. You can actually see how the muscles contracts. Do I have chances that the will still change. Ils there swelling?
I had a rhinoplasty around 6 months ago, and a few days ago I noticed a circular dent on my nostril. I have also been very dry in that area before the scar appeared so I dont know if Im dealing with some sort of infection (staph infection?) or if Ive simply just gotten a scar from maybe scratching that area. I've had some strange excessive discharge from my nose too for some time, its clear and slimy. I started noticing it after a recent flue so I dont know if its related to the dent.
I did my silicon/rib rhinoplasty in nov 2022 in korea and im very happy with the results. But i recently noticed that my septum is swollen. ive seen ent on 22 september and put on a 14 day antibiotics and topical omniment but its not getting better. i can feel pain when i touch the tip and part of my bridge. is my rhinoplasty infected?
I'm a healthy 26 year old woman who lives a healthy active lifestyle and maintains my physical appearance. About 5 years ago I had a rhinoplasty. In surgery it was decided to use an implant in my nose, and now I am experiencing swelling, slight discoloration at the tip, and tingling. I immediately returned to the surgeon who did my nose. He says this is likely just an infection to a permanent stitch. I'm worried the implant itself might be infected. What are your thoughts?
First nose job 7 months ago. Nose got infected. Last month surgeon told me that due to the infection I lost what made my tip sharp. Now my thin skin is a little bit loose (lack of cartilage underneath). She wont place graft on the tip arguing it is worthless. On my 1 year mark maybe she will inject some steroids. Im worried about columella scar and infratip looks fat and round. She said she will place ear graft. Im skeptical for this to turn out fine. Is my case actually simple to correct?
I injured my tooth while chewing which created an abscess on my gums and an infection in my tooth. 2 weeks prior to my rhinoplasty my dentist has drained my abscess, applied a topical medication and has me on a course of amoxicillin. The dentist says that the tooth (which is a baby tooth and has no adult tooth under it) needs to come out and is causing the infection. The soonest they can extract the tooth is 7 days before my rhinoplasty. Is this a safety concern being so close to surgery?
I am prone to sinus pain and infection when I fly. I am considering surgeons who are out of state and all of them have told me that it's ok to fly back immediately after stint removal which is 7 days from day of surgery . I am afraid flying may increase my risk of infection and also discomfort. What's the best course of action? How many days do you recommend your out of town patients to stay in town for rhinoplasty? Please provide rationale
What's the difference , pros and cons of using diced rib cartilage vs cartilage from septum to reshape a wide large nose into a smaller defined nose ? Does once have higher chance of infection?
So I have a pimple in my gum on my bottom right molar from an infection but my Rhinoplasty is in a week! Should I just take antibiotics and be okay to undergo surgery? Please advise! The rhinoplasty is in another country so its not like I can reschedule.
