Its been a year and 3 months since my rhinoplasty and my nose feels dry often . I have to constantly clean it with a q-tip to clean out the dried mucus. I feel like I have to blow my nose due to the feeling of my nose feeling blocked. During, cold weather it gets runny and when I cry my nose produces a lot of mucus making it hard to breathe. I feel like my nasal airways are blocked and feel relief once I use a q-tip to remove crusting in nose. Will this improve with time ?
I just had my rhinoplasty done yesterday and my doctor didn't put in any packing because he said that there was very minimal bleeding and it would make me more comfortable. So because of this, I had quite a bit of discharge and now that the bleeding has stopped, I have a lot of dried up blood inside my nostril. I've read that you can clean with hydrogen peroxide and water but I was wondering if the day after rhinoplasty is too soon to clean it? I don't want to injure anything in my nose...
About 8 days ago I had a septorhinoplasty procedure done. I got my cast and nose splints off on Tuesday. The swelling was apparent but not too bad when they romoved it. This morning I took a hot shower and cleaned my nose with facial cleanser gently. When I got out, there was a significant amount of more spelling all over my nose. Im worried that I did permanent damage. Was I not suppose to take a hot shower? Or clean my nose? Thanks!!!
I've been cleaning my nose with a q-tip gently inside around the tip, typically with nasal saline spray diluted with hydrogen peroxide to clean up the dried blood / crusts. I went up a little high a couple times because there was a big blood clot.. I try to be careful and gentle but I was wondering if I could possibly be damaging anything? I haven't gotten any alarming pain, bleeding or anything. My Dr. didn't really mention a q-tip but he did say to rinse with nasal saline spray.
I had rhinoplasty done to thin and reduce a bump on the top of my nose in May 2018. The other day I was using tweezers to clean my nose and pulled down on something that I thought was dried mucus. I felt something shift and now my nose has an indent above my right nostril. There was no bleeding. I'm worried that I pulled down on something supporting the nose (though I don't know why that would still be there so long after the surgery). I'm very worried that I damaged my surgery. Should I visit my doctor?
For how long do I have to use saline rinse after rhinoplasty? I've been using it three times daily for 11 days post-op (starting the morning after surgery), and I feel great - no more crusting in the nose, no more blood, no more bruising, no more swelling. You'd never know that I'd had anything done! How long does this cleaning regimen usually continue?
I had a septorhinoplasty, turbinate reduction and septal perforation repair. I am 9 days post op and had the stents and bandages removed yesterday. I could breathe great for like 12 hours but now Im having to rely on mouth breathing because my nose is so scabby inside. The consultant has said just to use a saline rinse once a day but I feel that this just isnt enough. I forgot to ask about blowing my nose, when would I be able to blow my nose without damaging the septal perforation repair?
I had a septorhinoplasty surgery done and this is my second week going. Should I use Saline or Hydrogen Peroxide to clean my nose after a septorhinoplasty? As far as I know, H2O2 is a germ killer but not saline? Thanks
Hi, I am at 18 days post-op and I don't know how much pressure can I put when washing and applying cleanser. My surgeon told me to do this but I don't know exactly how to do it because I'm really worried to damage my nose. When I apply the cleanser I barely touch the skin, thus it is very oily and full of glue things because of tapping. Please help me!
Ever since I had my nose done the mucus build up in my nose has been pretty bad. When I blow my nose it helps a lot but I have to use q-tips to remove most of the mucus from my nose, is blowing my nose and using q-tips in my nose damaging my final results?
