I am planning to get a nose job. I have always been anemic and have beta thalassemia trait. Currently my hemoglobin and iron levels are quite low. Doctor advised to take iron supplements. Once my iron and hemoglobin levels are improved, is it safe to get the procedure done taking into consideration the thalassemia trait? What is the minimum hemoglobin required for the surgery? Other than blood testing, what pre-operative tests would you recommend for someone with beta thalassemia
Hi so i got my rhinoplasty 7 months ago. My nose was broken since i was little so they had to fix that and made my nose slimmer. I got the surgery when I just turned 18 and I have been anemic since 14 years old I think. when they took my cast off my nose was really slim but a little swollen the surgeon said it was going to go down after 6 months. It has been 7 months but it just got bigger. I now have a bulbous nose. Does my low iron slow down the healing process or is it just swollen?
I had rhinoplasty 6 weeks ago, and I hate the results. My doctor advised due to me being anemic there were complication as I was bleeding a lot and my tissues were not working with him. However he still deems this as a successful operation and advised the complications wouldnt affect the result. However I dont know whether he is just saying that or if its true. On cast removal I instantly regretted the operation however after reading several reviews felt abit - see comment section for more
