Hi , I had alar stitch 8 weeks ago. 1 week ago I was prescribed oral steroids as my top lip was inflammed . It's helped somewhat but the area is extremely tight. I cannot smile properly my lip looks lower and my smile looks forced it almost hurts and looks like a grimace . I'm in distress my surgeon said my smile wouldn't be affected. I don't trust him he's on Holiday while I'm a mess what should I do kind regards .
I had an acne breakout and developed an icepick looking scar on the bridge of my nose. Theyre new and have been there for a week but Id like to reverse the damage as much as I can. Im also going to have a rhinoplasty procedure (dorsal hump reduction and tip) done within 2 months. Would a nose job help in improving the appearance of the scar by stretching of the skin? Otherwise what can I do to improve how it looks? Thank you!
hey doctors im now exactly 8 weeks post op rhinoplasty and it seems i have a lot of swelling, but unfortunatly a lot of you have written in other people's answers that most of your swelling should be gone by now. i have thick skin and im really concerned my tip is really round, could you tell me how long is normal to have swelling and could this round shape tip be it? i look like a clown :( thank you all
I am 8 weeks post-op and have significant swelling in the supra tip and tip of my nose. I know the final result is still months down the road but I am wondering if there is anything I can do at this point to help reduce the swelling in the meantime. For example, do hot baths/showers increase the swelling?
Hi. I felt sick and threw up at one point 8 weeks post rhinoplasty and again the other day (I am 10 weeks and few days now post rhinoplasty) and I would just like to ask if that could in any way ruin or alter the surgery results? It wasn't violent vomiting, just an irritation and I made sure I was hydrated afterwards. Thank you in advance for your help.
I've done my rhinoplasty in another country about 2 months ago (so isn't like I can just jump to my doctor on this one)... I've noticed this blue plastic on my nose bridge but I feel no pain or discomfort.. But i still have to constantly clean my nose because buggers still a problem. Do you know what exactly might be this plastic thing? Was it supposed to be out my nose? Is this what is causing the breathing problems after so long? Thanks.
I had an open surgery for a bridge reduction and asked my surgen to shorten my columella. the lateral view is nice now but i cannot accept its width from front now. I know it's still swollen and i should wait 6-12 months to see the final result, but when i google swelling timeline images, all of them have similar noses to thier final results. I didnt want my nose to be wider. I loved the cartilage shape and width before surgery. I am afraid the width would remain similar to the current image!
When my cast was first taken off I noticed very obvious asymmetry. My doctor said it was just swelling, however a week later he said internal stitches must have fallen out and he wanted to recut and restitch the incision on my right side for my nostril)my right). It has been 6 weeks since he performed that revision, but my nose is still very asymmetrical. I let him know my concerns and that i was worried it may be my alar but he just keeps telling me its swelling. Should I get a second opinion? Advice?
My surgeon injected kenalog and hyaluronidase solution along my alar crease line and up the side of my nose six weeks ago (2 months after surgery) , it has caused dents up the side and also (what's concerning me) across towards the bridge? The skin has also gone white / lightened in that area. How long does the steroid stay active in the tissues (e.g. could it yet get worse), will it improve? I have already contacted the surgeons office nearly two weeks ago and I'm still waiting for a response.
