A cartilage bump on the left of my nose tip.Doc says i will need an alar rim graft on the left side. He said its not a bump, its basically because on the left there is not enough lateral cartilage? Also he said maybe a graft was put there thats why its like that.My question is. Why was the graft even needed in the first place (wasnt discussed pre-op), did he accidentally remove more than necessary cartilage from the left side of my nose tip?Because I didnt have any issues with symmetry before
I underwent rhinoplasty more than 2 years ago that partially corrected crooked nose, reduced dorsal hump, and treated bulbous nasal tip. Nose is still deviated , there is palpable and visual presence of left ala rim graft, retraction of right ala rim, & straight contour of nasal dorsum. My surgeon is willing to revise it for free, but refuses to offer guarantees or show confidence due to presence of scar tissue, thick skin, resorption, complication of fixing crooked nose. What should I do?
Rib cartillage grafts were used in my previous rhinoplasty. Articulated alar rim grafts, perichondimrium grafts at laterals, septal extension graft and columelar shield graft. My only problem was alar retraction. As a result of this rhinoplasty, my nose is full by inside not allowing me to breath properly. Tip is overorojected and upturned and columella is fixed as a stick not allowing me to move my face muscles in a natural wat. I eould like to remove all these grafts.
I had rhinoplasty and a second rhinoplasty to further shorten my columella. I am not needing to fix a lot of nostril show and still not totally happy. I am getting ready for a third revision about six years later. My surgeon is recommended composite ear graft to bring down the alar rim. He is not recommended base reduction. I just want to confirm this will leave me w an aesthetically pleasing result and get second opinions
I got a columella strut to lift my nose but I don't like how lifted my tip is and wanted it lowered a bit with my nostrils + some alar batten grafts on my sides to open up my nasal valves a bit more because it seems too narrow to me. About how much would this cost somebody? My uncle used to be a nose surgeon but is not retired but this is what he recommended to me and said it should be relatively low cost.
I got a closed rhino (tip refinement) and alarplasty in Nov, and while I am happy with my results: a) it exacerbated my existing nostril asymmetry slightly & b) I mistakenly expected the alarplasty to reduce my nostril show/ lower rim height in addition to reducing flare. I'd like to improve symmetry and reduce the right side's retraction-- are alar rim grafts offered without a full rhino, and under local? Would you rec unilateral for my wishes? Happy w/ left side but not against slight tweaking
The result of my rhinoplasty left me with one nostril more arched than the other. My surgeon suggested that this can't be improved as an alar rim graft was already inserted to reduce the arch of the nostril. Is it true that it can't be improved? I also have cartilage hanging from one side of my columella which the surgeon has said he will fix.
I recently had a cosmetic rhinoplasty. I'm happy with everything except this pinching of nose. Can this be corrected through alar rim graft or batten graft ? Under local anaesthesia ? Please please reply
Hi there, I have had rhinoplasty completed in March 2020 in Istanbul. I went there because my nose was slightly bulbous, if I remember my turbinates have been corrected and the dip in my columella to be corrected which has failed in my opinion, possibly due to there still being some swelling in my nose. I am considering a revision but only to get the wing or ala rim to be lowered so my nostrils is less seen. Is this revision possible and damaging to do in regards to bruising and recovery time?
Hi there, I'm a man in my 30s and I'm considering a revision rhinoplasty. My first doctor ended up removing a fair amount of cartilage, including the entire upper lateral cartilage on one side and some of my septum. My primary concern now is the hanging columella/nostril show issue (would you recommend a columella reduction and/or alar rim grafts?). My secondary concern is the divot on my nose bridge, which gives it a particularly odd shape on 3/4 view (Would a graft work? Filler?). Thank you!
