“Had some pain but my teeth look awesome!”
Zoom whitening: Worth it
Pain: Uncomfortable
Went in for a 10am appt and was there until noon. It is done in 15min intervals. They first prop your mouth open and cover all exposed lip skin- if lips aren't covered it can cause swelling.
So I'm all "rigged up" and I got to help choose my existing shade of my teeth which was pretty yellow. They painted some gel on my teeth and then put a pair of eye guard glasses on me, pulled the zoom light over to my teeth and started the 1st 15 min setting. Most people do 2-3 sets as your teeth get more sensitive the more you do. I did 4 sets. I do not have very sensitive teeth normally.
The 3rd set kinda felt like I was getting too much sun on the inside of my mouth and my lips, it was a warm feeling. The 4th set was very warm and caused a couple shooting pains in 2 of my teeth. Very bareable for the results though!
About an hour after I left my teeth started hurting. It was the feeling you get in your teeth with extreme cold sensitivity but it was not going away- this constant ache stayed with me from about 2 or 3 pm until I went to bed at midnight. You can't eat any dyed foods or drinks that are like coffee as it may affect the whitening, but it hurt to drink water! Eating though almost made the pain better. I took some alieve which didn't seem to help and the gel they gave me was only about 5 minutes of relief.
It is now the morning after and I have no pain except my upper gums are sore to the touch of a tooth brush. My teeth are whiter than they have ever been and even my fillings look whiter! If you have always wanted whiter teeth and can handle temporary pain for gain then zoom is for you!

Great review, and it sounds like your 4th session was just like mine. I think people don't unerstand that it does hurt a bit, and if you have sensitive teeth it may hurt a lot, but it's not the end of the world. Also, when you go from my shade, which I will call "disgusting yellow" to the new shade which I will call "holy crap white" then I find it hard to believe a little pain would make it not worth it. I have to admit, finding "white food" is hard and I don't know what I'm hungry for, but this is the end of day 2 and I am starving and can't eat anymore damn rice, so I'll have to find something else. Bottom line for readers out there: This is SO worth it, and some pain aside, if you hate smiling and never feel that "fresh from the dentist clean" due to yellow, nasty teeth then the pain is worth it, and in my opinion the price at $485 for me, is COMPLETELY worth it!
