Scheduled for TT w/Lipo in two days. Not sure who's more nervous me, my family or my friends. After 21 years and 5 boys I'm ready. I exercise regularly but no amount of cardio or weight training has help to rid me of the jelly belly. I always look like I'm a few months pregnant. Wish me luck :0)

Let me first apologize for the typos that may follow. Had my surgery today and am happy to report there were no complications. Whoooohoooo! Surgery took 2.5 hours. I arrived at the hospital at 6:15 a.m. And was home by 3 p.m. I only have one drain. Woke up very nauseous but docs confirmed I was given meds to keep me from puking. Given oxycodon for pain took that I took at 5 pm 20 minutes after I was puking. Not a pleasant experience. Brought a recliner which I love only problem getting in and out of it. My toilet seat is very low so I'm urinating in a paper cup. My husband is awesome as he is my nurse unfortunately he could not take days off from work. My 19 year old son will be taking over the roll. God bless us both. Had some soup, drank some water and ginger ale and had some vanilla pudding. Due for my next pill at 9 pm may not take it to much later. Haven't seen my results as I am walking hunched over and wearing my husbands tshirt. Funny part after all this time I'm in no rush to see it. Scheduled for my post-op 11/15. My 21 yo called to say he will be introducing me to his friends as his Sexy Mama. My mother-in-law knows I had surgery but I didn't tell her what procedure. She came to check I'm me and asked me where my stomach was lol. Ok guys till next time Good Night.

Drain came out yesterday and I didn't feel a thing...

Drain came out yesterday and I didn't feel a thing. The whole the drain was in very itchy. Doc suggested I wear a binder for one more week. He also said that his clients usually wear it for a month but its not necessary for me. I will definitely continue wearing it. I will post pics in a couple of weeks. The lipo left me extremely bruised and I don't like the way that looks. I do like the flatness of my stomach. The incision is really low and I love how its healing. I took my first shower and what a relief. While showering my husband found a large blood clot on my side not sure what that's about or how it came to be its no where near the Incision. I think its from the way the zipper from the binder was cutting into me. I wanted to pop it cause it looks like a large bubble but my husband was dead set against it. He said it should go away by itself. If it doesn't I will bring it to docs attention at my next appointment. I will leave it alone cause the last think I need is to get that infected.

Question for you....with Thanksgiving around the corner can I have a drink. I would like a glass of wine. I'm not on any antibiotics or pain meds.

I'm loving my results. I'm standing much better now but not at 100%. I'm back at work which is great only downside is that I sit for most of the day and when I need to get up I feel stuck. I prefer moving around. I look forward to getting back into the gym. I'm hoping that once my doc gives me the ok I can get back on the treadmill to help looseen the tightness in my abs.

I had my last post op appointment with Dr. Joshua...

I had my last post op appointment with Dr. Joshua Rubenstein last night. It was a bitter sweet moment for me. This man gave me back the body I had 23 years ago. I had full TT with muscle repair and lipo of the upper abdomen. He was very impressed with how my scar is healing and told me to continue doing my scar therapy. His exact words were "Wow" that looks real good. All I've been using is Merderma Gel in the morning and Vitamin E (capsule) in the evening. Once my tube of Merderma runs out I will not be purchasing anymore. I will tell you why....a few years ago my son took a fall to the head. When I arrived on the scene the EMT had his head completely bandaged and wouldn't let me see the damage. I told him he's my son and I need to see. It literally looked as though someone took a melon ball scoop and carved out the middle of his forehead. By the grace of God a plastic surgeon was at the hospital killing time before he was needed in the OR. He put my son back together again and told me that when the scar heals to start putting Vitamin E on the scar but to rub it in deep and keep him out of the sun. He then took my arm and showed me the amount of pressure I needed to apply. My son has no scar today not even a little one. The surgeon did a great stitch up job and the Vitamin E did the rest. I figured I would apply the same amount of pressure on my scar and see what my scar will look like 6 months. I've seen some other post that say Vitamin E really does nothing but my son is living proof that it does. Everyone has their own scar therapy. I say do what works for you. At my 2 month mark I will post a picture of my scar. As you can see from my 6 week photo I have stains from where I bruised. This is nothing new for me. I bruise very easily and the stains stay with me for a very long time.

Happy New Year everyone. I am 8 weeks postop from...

Happy New Year everyone. I am 8 weeks postop from a Full TT with MR and Lipo of the upper abdomen today. I went to the gym yesterday for the first time and I feel good. I alternated between walking and jogging for 40 minutes and did 40 squats before I left. I didn't have time to stretch before I left as I was on my lunch break but did stretch when I got home again this morning before I climbed out of bed. I have a little soreness by my belly button and my legs are feeling the squats. Did I mention I hate squats lol. The incision is healing nicely. It still hurts to sneeze. I have this new body and I have to do everything to take care of it.

Having a TT is not an excuse not to exercise its the incentive too start. I have an acquaintance that had her TT and did not follow through with her diet and exercise plan and has put on some weight. She's very upset because she feels she wasted her money because she looks bloated and has gain weight in other areas. Dieting doesn't mean you have to give up all the foods you love. Dieting is eating in moderation, controlling the amount of you eat will make a huge difference. Giving up bread has made a huge difference in my life. Whether its white, grain, wheat or rye I won't touch it and that bagels included. There is a huge misconception that grain it better. Bread is bread in my eyes and it you have an allergy to wheat protein then its even a better reason to give it up. Thirty minutes of non-stop movement will jump start you to fitness.

Congratulations to all on their new bodies and their fitness success.

4 months post op and feeling great. I'm back in...

I can do some ab work but much. The incision is healing nicely. Overall I'm extremely happy. If I had to do it all over again I would.
