Mom of 9...mommy Makeover! - Wilmington, DE

I'm so excited to finally write this review! I planned to get my mommy makeover in 2010 (after 7 children I figured I deserved it) but ...SURPRISE...I found out I was pregnant...with TWINS! I have had 8 pregnancies all of which I gained 45-55 lbs. I'm 5'8", 36c/d and weigh between 145-155lbs depending on the time of year. After my last pregnancy in 2011 I went through a rough time. We lost one of our sons after an intense 8 week illness. I wouldn't wish this pain on my worst enemy. Driving away from the hospital the night he passed all I kept thinking was 'there were only 2 things I ever wanted...to travel to Europe and get a mommy makeover and now I don't want either because nothing will ever matter to me ever again'. Slowly over the past 6 months the desire to get my surgery has come back and now I feel it may help me heal...I have the will to live my life again! Not everyday...but I'm having more good days than bad.

I visited with one surgeon who quoted approx $17,000 for a lift w/implant and tt. Then I saw Starfish78 and her results have been amazing! I messaged her and made an appt w/ Dr. Saunders. He doesn't feel that I need a lift (great since I didn't want the scarring). He was so nice, reassuring and calm...it really put me at ease.

My husband has been super supportive and feels that I truly deserve it which helps me not feel too guilty about the money. Our kids (18 yrs-18 months) know what I'm doing and why...they're excited to help me during the recovery.

I'm scheduled for 4/1 with my pre op appt on 3/21. Thank you to everyone who posts with questions, comments, and their experiences...it has been so helpful to me!

Thank you everyone for all your kind words and support...especially about my son! It always makes me feel a little better when people acknowledge his passing because it has become such a huge part of who I am. I received my pre surgical packet today. Getting blood work done this week. Woot woot! It's getting close!

I had my pre op appt last night! I've been scouring the internet for pics of women with similar stats (ht, wt, bra size, etc) trying to decide on implant size. Eventually I decided to go with the drs recommendation...550 silicone, moderate plus. I'm worried that will make me too big but I'm going to trust him. Surgery is scheduled for 4/1 @ 11 am in Wilmington. I've been cleaning like a lunatic...I feel like I'm nesting, lol. For some reason I'm not too excited about surgery. I guess I'm just worried about the recovery plus knowing that you are choosing to put yourself through pain isn't very exciting. Does anyone else feel the same? I always figured I'd be thrilled to finally be getting it done...oh well.

Now I'm starting to get excited! I have one weeks worth of meals cooked and frozen. My hubby took a week off of work. He also rented me a recliner for one month. I hoping its a comfy one since ill be spending so much time in it. My house is spotless... I even washed my kitchen with bleach, lol. Got my carpets cleaned. I'm totally ready. The only things I'm worried about are eating too much on Easter and forgetting NOT to drink coffee Monday morning.

This time tomorrow ill be in recovery! Should've thought better about scheduling surgery the day after Easter...I ate entirely too much today! Wish me luck!

I made it to the other side! Had my surgery 4/1 at noon and was discharged the following morning. Nursing care was very good at the hospital. My doctor doesn't use pain pumps or exparel so he prescribed me dilaudid...big mistake! It barely touches my pain so I switched over to Percocet which works very well. I'm not standing straight yet so I'm having some back pain. But overall the pain is very tolerable...I expected much worse. My husband and kids have been awesome! I've always been lucky by how wonderful my husband is to me but to see him encourage my kids to be so helpful and loving towards me while I recover is quite heart warming. He is amazing! The only pics I'm posting today are the ones my 5 yr old took so theyre not the best, lol.

I was feeling great until Saturday morning. By the evening I had developed a fever but it didn't go over 101 so my doc wasn't too concerned. By Monday morning I have gotten and sweated out 9 fevers!!! I tried to get up twice this morning and all but passed out. I figured I better check my drainage sites...warm, imflamed, yellow/green pus!!!! My husband drove me into the office where they cultured it (and removed my stitches) and prescribed bactrim. Can't wait til this kicks in...I'm still feeling awful but I'm hopeful.

The antibiotic kicked in and I started feeling better by day 2...only 5 more days and I'll be completely healed(fingers crossed) of my infection. One of my drains was getting 'sucked in' to its hole which was causing excrusiating pain! Went to the Dr and my nursed pulled both drains on po day 10...I'm praying I don't end up with a seroma/edema. I feel much better. Now I'm focusing on walking straight...not forcing it, just encouraging it.

Putting up a new pic...can't stand straight yet so I'm leaning against my bathroom door, lol. Does anyone know if my chest is still swollen or is this the approx size I'm going to stay?

I heard of Dr. Saunders through starfish78 on this forum. He's wonderful!
