50 Years Old Male Gynocomastia. White Plains, NY

I am writing this review to thank Dr. Blau for an absolutely fabulous job correcting a condition that had caused undue stress and worry for me for many years. I am fifty years old, but have stayed active and healthy most of my life. I noticed that the right side of my chest in particular was developing a lumpy, hard and sometimes painful tissue underneath the nipple and trailing to the sides. Initially, I thought maybe I was developing a little excess fat due to age, possible genetic predisposition, or maybe something a little more serious like a tumor. I spent years doing everything I could to address/correct it with exercise, a healthy diet and countless hours working hard at the gym. I have never used steroids, but have taken supplements and various protein powders over the years as part of a fitness routine. Unfortunately, I now believe this may have been a direct contributing factor to the condition I would learn through research is what is male Gynocomastia. I do not make hasty decisions, but after thoroughly researching this condition, I decided to verify if this condition was in fact what I had somehow developed. I wanted a valid medical explanation as to why nothing I did, no matter how hard I worked out, or tried to target the area resulted in getting rid of this lumpy tissue in my chest area. This led to 3 local consultations in the Houston area. I was not confident after these consultations, that the results would be satisfactory, or even permanent. I decided to continue researching for someone who focused on the area of Male Gynocomastia and not just another plastic surgeon who happens to offer this as an item on the cosmetic surgery menu!

This led me eventually to Dr. Blau in White Plains, NY. I received the information from his wonderful office staff, and simply sent in photos for him to review and follow up with a phone consultation. I was disappointed to hear that my case was classified as severe, but certain that I had found the right place and had no doubt that Dr. Blau was the best surgeon available to address my concerns satisfactorily.

It has now been two weeks since the surgery to remove the tissue which was also sent out for biopsy screening. There is the peace of mind that this was benign, and the satisfaction that this stubborn condition I tried so hard to resolve on my own was now removed. There is already a dramatic improvement despite the severity of the Gynocomastia in my case. I am very happy with the results in the relatively short time post-operative. Pain can be mild to moderate, but in my case there was a lot of tissue to be removed from the right side.

Dr. Blau performs more of these specific surgeries in a day than most others will do in a year. In fact, many times to correct the unacceptable results of previously botched or unsatisfactory attempts. I did not want to add myself to that statistic. It has been well worth traveling to White Plains to have someone with Dr. Blau's skill, experience and artistic ability get it right the "first time". As the saying goes, "measure twice, cut once". There is no substitute for experience. Dr. Blau is also a gifted artist and sculpturer, which I think lends to his attention to detail In his surgical practice. I appreciate the care I have received from everyone in his office and I agree with the assessment of the many body builders who have sought out Dr. Blau for the same condition. Dr. Blau is the "go to guy" for Gynocomastia. I only wish I had been aware of what this condition was earlier. I would not have waited this long to get it taken care of.

Dr. Blau has my highest recommendation as one of his recent patients. If you are considering this procedure to correct Gynocomastia, do the research, compare the results, and make an informed decision. For me, I am happy to have gone the distance to get the results I did.
