So i figured since this site is what ultimately helped me find my doctor i would start writing my story!! I had my consultation with dr. ciardullo and immediately new he was the one for the job. although my surgery is a few months away i just want to be prepared for everything!! I've always hated my nose and think it takes away from my face. finally, i'm brave enough to go through with the surgery. i guess my biggest concern is the side effects as far as nausea, dizziness, etc. go with the surgery. i feel like i have a pretty high tolerance for pain so im not as worried about that but i just don't want to feel out of control when i wake up from the anesthesia because ive never had it before!! im nervous its going to be a "trippy" feeling lol and i just dont want it to be!! any helpful tips and or comments will be really helpful!!

its done!!! So yesterday i had my surgery around 10am. I was seriously beyond nervous. I am such a big baby, i can barely get a cavity filled without crying and the actual surgery was a piece of cake!! the nurses, dr, anesthesiologist, were just as everyone says; Amazing and so calming. I can't believe it's done!!! I ended up going with a nostril tuck which i am a little concerned about. I know i needed it, but the stitches and idea of scars are scary. When i got home from surgery I mostly laid around and watched tv/ slept. I got a horrible nights sleep last night. The pressure from the nose cast was honestly a little scary/traumatic for me. I however did not take any pain killers and instead opted for tylenol and lorazapam to calm some of my anxiety/discomfort. I have black and blue eyes mostly the inner eye and my forehead is pretty swollen! I hope that the pain doesn't get worse from here!!

So i got my cast off yesterday 1/04/12 and i was liking what i saw. waking up this morning i look awful though :( it's really upsetting. my nose (the whole thing not just the tip) looks absolutely huge. I really am scared and sad today.. hope this goes away

so i added some more pictures to show you my before/after side profile. im trying not to be too critical about my nose so i will update at the one month mark more in depth of how i feel about it. hopefully alot of my unhappiness with it is due to swelling.

hey guys so its been 1 month post op and i thought i'd update. i personally dont see much change in my nose since the cast came off. maybe a tiny bit of swelling went down.. i posted a picture so you can see my front before and after. hopefully it looks like an improvement. even though the 'after' pic is kind of flattering. i notice alot of lumpiness and fullness in the tip, and i still see swelling in the bridge. hopefully it keeps getting better. dr C is such a well known doctor so i have to trust that he knows what hes doing and that i will eventually be happy. hope everyone is recovering well! feel free to ask me any questions

It's been 1.5 months and I can honestly say I hate my nose.. a revision is definitely going to be in my cards and seeing as I'm in college ill probably have to wait for a while. It took me almost a year to save up for this surgery and now I'm left with something I can barely stomach to look at.

just wanted to update.. after giving myself almost 10 weeks to at least see some improvement ive seen none. i called dr. c to meet with me and look at it and of course now that i have a problem its going to be almost a month until he can meet with me.. funny because im pretty sure when i wanted a consultation i was put in the next week. i feel like lots of these reviews on here might be made up based on how grossly different my results are.

Hopefully my posts don't sound too crazy, although I don't love my new nose yet, I think it's making some progress. Really hoping time will make this better.Added a before and after

This is going to be my last post ... My advice to everyone out there would be to go to MULTIPLE consultations with everyone you can find. After having my 3 month post op appointment it's very clear me and my doctor had different ideas about what the nose should look like. My doctor over promised and under delivered. The bottom two thirds of my nose are very disproportionate and after going to 2 revision specialists who confirmed this, my own doctor explained it was "impossible" to narrow the bottom 2/3rds of my nose. Had this been explained to me prior to surgery I would've never gone through with it.. The other specialists told me that too much was taken off my bridge and not enough off the tip giving my nose a flat, disproproportiante look and that this is fixable with cartilage grafts. My goal was NOT perfection. I was merely looking for an improvement.. What a got was a bunch of empty promises and now a year of time before I can repair this mess. Please please do your research ladies! Going off Internet reviews left me heartbroken, don't make the same mistake!!

Just wanted to post an update and see if anyone has any suggestions for revision surgeons on the east coast. My primary ruined my nose and I'm pretty distraught about.. Thanks in advance!
Hi there,
I'm so sorry you're not happy with your results thus far. You look great in your pictures. And it can take more than just a couple months for the swelling to go down (a whole year for some people).
I can assure that you all reviews go through human moderators and we do our very best to make sure no 'made up' or spam reviews get on the site.
Please let us know what your doctors says.
