7 weeks later...

This is the result, 7 weeks later, with no touch ups. I definitely need a touch up in the brows, but I am considering going to another tattoo artist just to see if the pain factor will be less with someone else.

Consultation: I saw two people in Montreal, Orise and Amal from Sensavie. Orise had a much better price, $700 ($550 US) but i didn't feel we were on the same page, as she wasn't able to achieve what I was looking for when she drew eyeliner on my eyes during the consultation. Amal, did a much better job at convincing me I was going achieve the desired final result, but her price was much higher: $900 ($750 US).

Day 1: The procedure hurt like nothing I felt before AND I had done permanent makeup 4 years ago! Amal used very little numbing agents, I had to repeatedly ask her to apply more. She was able to adjust the brow height and created a nice shape, which I am quite happy with. However, it came out very dark, so dark that I started referring myself as clown face. The eyeliner was 95% of what I wanted, I found them to be still too short on my top lash. Amal gave me petroleum jelly but contrary to what I read online, she asked me to not put any of it on the tattoo, only if the area was too dry and needed soothing.

Day 2: Oh the swelling! I took a photo at the end of day 2, so you don't see the swelling. I took pain meds to reduce the swelling. The brows lightened at bit. My boyfriend came home from out of town and took a double take. I was too ashamed to tell him I had the procedure done. I tried to avert his eyes as much as possible.

Day 3: I spent some time cleaning my brows hoping it will lighten some more. Went out with friends for lunch and they didn't know I had permanent makeup done, they just thought I was heavy handed with the eyeliner and brow makeup. I keep having this tingly sensation at the base of my lashes.

Day 4: The eyeliner has begun to flake off, leaving faint grey lines underneath. The likelihood of a touchup is high now. I am frightened by the prospect of revisiting Amal's torture table. She had dismissed the pain for a case of severe nervousness and stress. I have a feeling a lot of the eyeliner will be flaking off, especially since I put nothing on them post-procedure, as per Amal's instructions. I am starting to regret this decision.
