I had Fraxel-2 in 2009. Although I now have no more freckles on my face, the tightening and wrinkle removing that I was hoping for did not happen. It was extremely painful and I had to stay indoors for a solid week. I got far better results with IPL photofacials!

I strongly suspect I was his first patient to have this done. He seemed unsure of himself, gave me uneven results and had a lot of people in the room at the time.

I agree with you. I had 2 treatments of fraxel restore 2 years ago at a dermatologist and did not notice much improvement to either wrinkles, hyperpigmentation or firmness - maybe 20% on the pigmentation. I have always had very fine pores but I would say in a 7x mulitplication mirror my skin now looks like it has holes in it. However, 6 months ago I had a first of a triple series of IPL on my face and chest and got much much much better results without all the breakouts and bronzing and peeling and pain of Fraxel. I personally find that the Fraxel cost vs result extremely poor and together with the numerous horror stories as it can clearly cause severe and permanent damage in the hand of both experienced and professional accredited doctors as well as the unscrupulous and greedy practicioners out there, it is not worth it. Indeed the fraxel manufacturers appear to be extremely irresponsible in who they sell their equipment too and have no advertised way of reporting or addressing problems caused by their indiscriminate sales.
