I was in dispair after hearing the news of a second cancerous mass to my right breast. In 1994 I had a Lumpectomy. I was now going to have that breast removed. The surgeon suggested I look into reconstruction. At age 63, I thought, why? I reluctantly saw Dr. Adam Hamawy. When he walked into the room; I somehow knew I would be in good hands. After he informed me that the reconstruction can be done at the time of the mastectomy; I was sold. He and his team explained all procedures to me and incurraged questions. The surgergies took 5 hours but when I woke up I had two breasts and a flat tummy. I had very little discomfort while healing. Six months later I look like I did at age 25. Thank you Dr. Hamawy for your brilliance and care.

How exciting that you are nearly done!! Do you know when you will be going in for the tattooing?
It is great to hear that you are so happy with how things turned out!! No doubt, this was a very trying time for you, so how wonderful to have things go so well. I would love to know if your breasts were reconstructed to size close to where you were pre-surgery, or if you and the surgeon opted for a different size.
