June 2014 Post-Scar Revision 1

Hi,
This is how my tummy looks now after the wound healed and the scar revision surgery. My PS would like me to have a second scar revision to close things up but the area is tight and I am concerned about having another area of low/no blood flow and more necrosis. I look better with clothes on but unless I find a high-waisted bikini, that option is out b/c of the ugly scar. Should I have a second scar revision?

Hello,
I had my surgery last March. I had a whole area on the right side of my belly that did not get any blood flow. My surgeon said this sometimes happens with someone who was heavier in the belly to begin with. As a result of the low/no blood flow, I had a large necrosis area. It finally closed after doing nearly 9 months of a wet-to-dry process (saline). In March of this year, I underwent a second surgery to repair the scar that was left. I also had some complications with it. Overall, I look better (with clothes on :-) ) but I discourage others from going through with it.

Dr. Adam has been very supportive through the entire process and has not charged me a dime for all of the follow-up appointments or the scar revision. Although the surgery was not as successful as he or I would have liked, he has been honestly trying to make it right because ultimately he wants me to be happy. I feel he really cares about his patients and their long-term happiness.
