2 Weeks Post Belotero Injections for Under Eye Hollows
Still absolutely thrilled with results. I will continue to have some darkness under my eyes because I have a heavy concentration of superficial blood vessels and pale skin, but that can be hidden with makeup. I can now put just a little concealer on and out the door, which I have never been comfortable doing before. I never experienced bruising, swelling or pain after the injections. Interested to monitor and see how long this filler will last before needing a touch up.

I've hated my under eye area for years. I first visited a cosmetic surgeon when I was 18 to discuss options to address the loss of volume, but I was too afraid to move forward with treatment. I spent the next 10 YEARS researching, and reading reviews. Finally, I decided to take the plunge to fix my hollows with filler and the results have me wishing I did it so much sooner!
The Doctor recommended using Belotero in the sensitive under eye area as it is thinner than other HA fillers, making it a better option for superficial injection. It also tends to attract less water than Juvederm and Restylane.
The injections were a breeze! A numbing cream was applied to my lower eyelids and upper cheek area for ten minutes. Next the doctor injected a medicine under each eye to shrink the blood vessels, so they could be avoided easier during filler injections. After a total of 20 minutes, I was numb, vessels were shrunk, and we were ready for product! The Belotero injections took no more than ten minutes. Totally painless! Two syringes were used in my case due to the amount of volume we needed to replace.
The immediate results were FANTASTIC! I was shocked to discover I had barely any bleeding, bruising or swelling (which I was fully prepared for). I figured it may kick in later in the day or overnight, and to my surprise, it only improved in appearance! I think the injectors skill has ALOT to do with this, and I'm so happy I chose Dr. Wise.
In advance of the appointment, I started arnica tablets for two days and avoided salty foods. Following the appointment I iced the area only for three minutes immediately after injections and continued the arnica twice daily.
