At evaluation time, there was no question about Invisalign's ability to correct my pronounced diastema (gap). However, as treatment neared its end, my front teeth began to tip instead of moving to close the gap. My dentist then began attributing it to my short teeth and long roots. This was the case from the beginning, however, and the animation that is supposed to show the progress didn't show this anomaly. I'm now being told that I will need veneers to correct my skewed front teeth. I feel that animation the show you at the beginning is nothing but a marketing gimmick.
Great review?
I can certainly understand you being disappointed if you were under the impression the Invisalign would fix the diastema at the beginning of treatment, and then not have it happen.
Do you mind me asking if a dentist or an orthodontist is doing your Invisalign for you? If you are seeing a dentist it might be a good idea to get an opinion from an orthodontist before deciding on veneers. Perhaps they could put you in traditional braces for a very short time to close the gap?
That is understandable. There was a question posted in our Q&A section that might interest you, it asked "Who Makes the Treatment Plan, the Dentist or the Invisalign Company?"
