A Little Freaking out - Asburn, VA

UPDATED FROM ys dbb

Day 1 post op - bruise from bottom where suction...

WORTH IT$800
Day 1 post op - bruise from bottom where suction goes in is real prominent, size of bruise is one inch by 3 inch. Smaller bruises on top and sides. Tummy is completely numb, with no sensitivity. Pain is more than yesterday, but not horrible. Tummy is getting distented. To back up, I am 5, 5 1/2 and weighs about 129.

Day 2 - Pain is increasing everyday, I feel slightly nauseated, but still ok. No one told me my stomach would be swollen, i did this 9 days before Puerto Rico trip and now I am concerned reading on this site that everyone has pain post op. I asked the nurse what are the side effects and she said NONE other than tingling. Okay, this is more than tingling and the bulging tummy (similar to about 3 months pregnant) is prominent. There goes my chance of even wear bikini or do anything in PR. I am upset. Had I been told sooner of all the things to expect, I would have timed this so much better.

Day 3 - Now the feeling of constant needles poking in your stomach and ever so often sharp pain. My stomach looks awful, it is huge and feel like plastic when i touched it. There is no sucking in the tummy either, it is very similar to being pregnant with something hard inside.

Day 4 - Pain is increasing everyday, I drank lots of water and take aleve. No alleviation.

Day 5 - Pain is still sharper, stomach still distented. This is the part I hate the most, I cannot wear anything. If i wear a dress, I look pregnant, not good for my position. I can't seem to put jeans on without being in pain. I put ice on this morning. No change. I did talk to my doctor who assures me that this will be gone in 2 weeks. Too bad I didn't have that information earlier in the game. It was funny, there was a paper that said did the nurse go through all the side effects. I didn't sign that paper because she didn't say as much as Boo other than telling me she is doing it. I asked about side effects, and she said none. Starting to at least definitely feel this is not worth it. But I am still hoping for result but I think people should know Zeltiq is NOT painless.

The pain more than expected especially after. I never saw my dr and got an incorrect bill thus the low ratings. Overall I think it is worth it just as long as you have a better dr and know what to expect. My tummy did get smaller but I started running like crazy so not sure how much of it is Zeltiq but I do think it did help.

Thanks for posting, ys dbb. I hope you get great results! I'll be following your posts. :)

day 2 - tummy numbs, no sensation, like touching something that you can't really feel, tummy slightly bigger, pain increase a little but not too bad.

Day 3 - tummy is completely distented, looks swollen like about 3 months pregnant, pin and needles feeling are starting, more pain but still bearable.

Day 4 and 5 - tummy still big and swollen, getting stressed out as no one said there were after effects, I am leaving for Puerto rico for vacation in less than one week, this pain better go down. I wish dr.'s office had been clear as I asked several times if there are after effects and they said none. I would have timed this procedure better. I also email my doctor who told me that this would definitely die down in 2 weeks, that no patient experienced discomfort after 2 weeks, unfortunately my PR trip is 9 days post ops, hopefully this will go away soon. Also, my tummy has little red bumps now like an allergic reaction or slightly annoyance. The shooting needle pricks is increasing, I am taking Aleve, no help.
sorry to post double diary notes of the same first 5 days, i thought I accidently x out of the first comment so had to retype most of it.
Day 6 - in pain still, wearing spanx to keep ice pack in ever so often....called dr's office, talked to nice nurse who suggested ice pack and motrin, it has been 4 hrs. no change.
Day 7 and 8 - Pain in stomach is slightly increasing but the bee stings are going away. Some sensation return to stomach but still cannot feel it. I put lots of ice pack on stomach and that helps some temporarily. Thank God I have an office and can manage to somewhat put the ice pack on without being too noticeable. The swelling is still there, bloated. In the morning when I wake up, it went down a bit but as the day goes, it became big again. Sitting seems to exacerbated it and as I work in an office, sitting is unavoidable. I took Motrin 800mg per nurse's suggestion and still not feeling much difference. Today, I am planning to work half day from home so that I can lay on my bed and give my stomach a rest of scrunching in my chair.

Day of treatment - procedure when the suction goes...

Day of treatment - procedure when the suction goes in - pretty painful - wish dr. had prepared me and explained more carefully than just you will feel uncomfortable but it will get better. It was extremely painful when it was first sucked in. Knocked the wind out of me. After 10 mins better.

The shocker is when the machine was removed. No one prepared me for the sight. Wish nurse said what to expect. It was like a brick that laid on your tummy. The color is like bright pink log of ice. Pretty freaked out. It thawed out in like 2 hrs. But pretty gross.

I was able to go back to work. Just uncomfortable, total numbness on tummy.
