Well, here is my story in a nutshell...

I am a 25 mother of 3 beautiful children, 5,2, and 4 months. i have always been on the heavier side. When I got active in high school I dropped about 30 pounds, i joined the Navy after graduation and then had my first child in 2006. here it is 5 years later, I had my last child and within these past 4 months, I lost about 40 pounds. i have had this hanging pouch since my first child but I am so over not being able to properly fit clothes, and just looking at it in the mirror. I went for a consultation two weeks ago, thought it over and have decided to go ahead with this. i am scheduled to have my surgery on May 5th. I am so scared even though I have been through 3 c-sections. I just dont want anything to happen to me, or I dont want there to be any complications and I dont know how bad the recovery will be. I know this is the right thing for ME to do for Me, so that is why I will push through all these fears!

***Before photos will be posted soon***

Ok, well, I had my operation yesterday. It was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I wasn't even nervous...I just pretended I was havin another c section. When I woke up I was not in much pain either. I went home and got staright in my bed and that's where I have been ever since. I have my post op today in about an hour, I can't wait to see what my belly looks like! Now, when it comes to pain, its not that bad, the morphine helped but made me feel really sick, everytime I got up to use the bathroom I felt as if I were going to throw up. So I just stopped taking it and just took my first dose of vicodone, I hope that works better, I know percocet would help but being that I only have an old perscription for that, I don't want to take it for piss tests at work purposes. Well, untill next time!

Updated on 6 May 2011:
I went to my post op today, they took the dressing off and I must say it feels a whole lot better. I got very lightheaded from the compressor being off to long. But I am very pleased wit the results. I am still a bit swollen so my waist still measures a 31 as it did before but at least I have a flat tummy now....so excited, tights and heels, here I come!

Updated on 8 May 2011:
Its day 4 and I'm down to 1 vicodine every 5 hours. Oh, it really hurts to cough... I was able to get up and cook my own breakfast this morning, my eyes were much bigger than my belly, I didn't even finish half of it. I took more pictures, my only complaint is that I have "dog ears" on my hips, my doc said that if they don't go away with the swelling, he can fix them. Well, that is all for now...

Updated on 10 May 2011:
5 days Post Op...today I feel pretty great! I haven't taken any meds or tylenol since last night and I'm doin alright. There is slight pain on my left side, possibly due to the drain. Tomorrow I see my PS again to remove the stitches and most likely the drain...of course I'm still very swollen and my belly is still hard, but I am still loven the way I look. Hopefully I will be walking upright and able to function in 2 weeks, I will be returning to work, my shop apparently can't function without me...I've been called about 3 times since my surgery. Well, that's all for now

Updated on 11 May 2011:
So, I seen my PS today, got my stitches out but drain is still in till Friday....so disappointed! But, the good thing is I don't have to wear the darn binder anymore if I don't want to so tonight I will not be sleeping wit it on. Oh, my belly is soooo swollen right now, I think I moved to much today. I wish it would just be normal already. Well, until next time!

Updated on 12 May 2011:
Today makes a week!! Woke up feelin great, still a bit swollen but I'll be ok. Been stuck in the house all week, I think imma go take a drive to the nail salon and get pampered a bit....

Updated on 18 May 2011:
13 days post op....I'm feelin pretty much myself again. I still swell just about everyday tho. My scar is healing pretty well too. I decided to get a hair makeover as well to match my new look. I went from really long dark brown hair to shoulder lenght, with highlights. My daughter told me I don't look cute anymore...lol, I think she was just jealouse...haha!

Updated on 24 May 2011:
19 days post op... I am begining to get the blues, I am soooo swollen, more now than ever. I want to think that I may be bloated because I'm on my period now too but I can't even button up my work uniform...the same one I was wearing before the surgery. Will this get better, and when?!?

Updated on 3 Jun 2011:
I'm a month post op so I decided to make an update... I'm feeling great, no real pain, I can still feel it in my abs a bit when I sit up from a laying position. My scar is healing beautifully BUT, I'm still really swollen. Maybe my three kids are preventing me from healing normally. I just want the swollenness to go away...like yesterday. But, everything else is goin great...

My rating:

Overall he was great. I know he is a busy man so I didn't see him much, but, he had his nurses spend as much time as needed with me. I looked him up many times to make sure there was nothing negative out there about him and I found nothing. And from his other patients pictures, he always has great results. So far, I would recommend him and I would surely go back to him if I decide to do anything else.

The fears are a totally normal part of this whole process. It's too bad they can't start sedating us a few weeks before the tummy tuck! LOL! If you get a chance, check out Kimmers' Tummy Tuck Survival Guide and, if you're on Facebook, my Moms Who Want Their Bodies Back page.

Looking forward to seeing your photos and following your journey. And congrats on the weight loss. You should give yourself a very hearty pat on the back for that!

You are going to do absolutely wonderful!   The only thing that is going to happen to you is a new and sexy tummy.   You will be just fine and we will all support you and see you through this process.

Your weight loss is amazing so congratulations on a job well done.

Make sure that you have plenty of help lined up for the little ones the first two weeks post op.  You are going to need to rest and lay low for a while.  No lifting, cleaning, or performing as Wonder Woman.  It is very hard to resist but this is what you need to do for a while.

The pain and swelling will all be temporary so don't let that stress you out prior to surgery.  It will all come to an end and you will then have the body you have wanted for so long.

Stick with us here on RealSelf and we will see you through.  The women on here are amazing!

wow your tummy kinda looks like mines, lol! Im so scarred to, never had any kind of surgey before. I had 3 nature birth cause i was afraid of the epidural. I am schedule for another consult today and hopefully i can schedule the surgery in June. So we have to think positive and just think about us wearing sexy panties without the flab hanging over our cookie box! lol good luck girl!
triciaplusthree 12 Apr 2011
Thanks...and congrats on your three natural births! No way could I have had children with no epidural. I cant wait to see our end results. Good luck to you.

My TT is scheduled the same day, so keep me updated :) I am having the same fears, but I know its all part of the process. I think what makes all of this the hardest is that we have children and we dont want to not be there for them. At least thats my fear. But I gave it to God and I will pray for you. You will pull through like a champ and I too. God bless. And I know you will look amazing!!!

triciaplusthree 7 May 2011
Thanks y'all. I wish I felt as great as I may look....how long does this irritability last, I'm ready for it to be done with. Its so hard to get out of bed, even with help. And this drain is in the middlt of my pubic area and is gettin in the way, haha. I'm goin to have my first shower here in a bit, I am so excited to have that hot water runnin down my back! I can't wait till I can put on some pants to see how many sizes my bulge made me have, I will be happy at a size 9 though, not askin much, that's what I wore before the kids. Well good luck to everyone else with their operation and healing process, its not fun but it sure is worth it!

You look so good! Congrats! I was not in too much pain either :) We are lucky! I am staying on the couch cause my bed is too high... I just roll like I'm going to roll off the couch then put my legs on the ground then push off with my left arm...
triciaplusthree 7 May 2011
Thanx, yeah even tho my bed is just on a regular frame, I'm only 5 2 so its still hard wit my short legs...lol. I gotta scootch all the way up then turn my legs, and then step on to my daughters Dora stool...were women tho, we got this!

Can not tell you how much I love your photos. Gives me inspiration. I'm starting to think too much and getting scared and super nervous. But only a little over 2 weeks and I go in for my TT. :) again...you are looking great!
triciaplusthree 8 May 2011
I'm glad they help you. This sight helped me a lot. I told my doctor about it and mentioned all the fears it brough from unhappy clients as well. You will do fine. Its not any more painful then recovering from a c section, just a tad more discomfort. But I know once its done, you will b happy u did it. I will be praying for you!
kissblueheaven 8 May 2011
Girl your surgveon did an amazing job. When te swelling goes down you are gonna look terrific!
I feel like I look ok but I have a lot of tummy bulge due to not being able to use the bathroom. Yah know.number 2 lol. So I am gonna take some more pics afte I finally get this outta me. Hopefully today. Walking around is getting better. My lower back is killing me from being hunched over. I also had upper back lipo so my back is very sore.
Anyway I just had to tell you your picslook great!
triciaplusthree 8 May 2011
Did the bowel prep not help...I know I was goin all day the day before. I bought extra so that I can take after cuz I have always been irregular...and stay constipated. I still have stool softeners and prenatals from my last baby that I just started taking again to try to help. But you look great, of course there is a lot of swelling too, but at least u don't have doggy ears like I do...they are not that bad, just look funny cuz all the lipo that was done there. The feeling is really weird tho, it feels so tight and hard and I don't know if I should put a warm rag or cold pack to help... I'm just ready to put on some pants and see what size I'm at now...looking forward to seeing ur pix!
kissblueheaven 9 May 2011
Hey girly, my doc didn't have me on any bowel pep although I know what you are talking about. I wish he had. So iby day 3 I had to go full force on the laxatives. Girl I took half a box of chocolate ex lax, milk of magnesia and to tp it off and enema. Girl I was so blocked up and hard in the tummy I wanted to scream. I to am irregular anyway so this jut made it worse. But I finally went sat. Girl you talk about joy! Lol
And I don't have any dog ears cause the dr had to cut me so far around my sides. They say that helps with the dog ears. But like u said in one of your prior posts your dr can fix that so no worries :)
One thing I will say is I am scared to try on any of my jeans. I so swollen it might bring down my self esteem lol. I wanna believe they'll be big on me but I'm sure they will just fit better with no rolls hanging over lol. Ill let u know when I have the courage to try on my jeans. Maybe after my drains are removed.
Hey and I was standing up a little straighter today! That made my day.
How have you been feeling?
curvyisgood 9 May 2011
Amazing! Lipo really swells so dont get depressed if those pants arent as loose as ud like. Patience pays.
Lovemyself11 9 May 2011
Dang you look really good! Did you have lipo as well? You don't even look that swollen, did you take any supplements before of after the surgery? Great job done
Kimmers25 (Community Manager) 9 May 2011

WOW is all I can say!  Your tummy looks amazing and your incison also looks great.  He did a really nice job on you.  Congratulations!
triciaplusthree 9 May 2011
Thanks y'all...he did lipo on my love handles which left dog ears but he said they can be fixed...I didn't take anything before but I am taking prenatals and stool softeners from my last pregnancy. I am very swollen and my belly is hard too, I still can't stand straight but the pain is very minimal... I am pleased with how things came out, I had a great PS!
triciaplusthree 9 May 2011
The bowel prep they had me take was miralax, the big bottle, mix it wit 64 oz of gatorade drink half at night and the other half in the morning with 4 dulcolax 5mg pills...that worked wonders for me! If u try that let me know how it works, I think imma do it again here soon....
Booka 11 May 2011
U look great!
triciaplusthree 11 May 2011
Thank you very much. I feel great, off my meds and am able to do my school work again! I'm excited to get my stitches and drain out today....woohoo!
Booka 11 May 2011
I am getting my stitches removed tomorrow (15 days PO). I got my drains out day 6 and was presented with my belly button LOL. I had my final exam the week after my TT, fun times! We used to live in Norfolk btw.
kissblueheaven 12 May 2011
