Day 6

The swelling on my eyes and lips has subsided. The right tear trough and lips look great. Unfortunately, now that the swelling is gone my left tear trough is not looking so good. There are visible lumps under my eye and it still looks very hollow. Not sure if I have a bruise or the filler is showing through but I have a noticeable blue spot where all the lumps are. Will be contacting my provider tomorrow.

Day 3 and 4

Day 3: Swelling on my lips went down even more so it was no longer obvious I had them altered. There were still a few light bruises on my lips, so I just wore lipstick and you couldn't tell. My lips were still a little sore so I wasn't able to rub them together after applying the lipstick. But still an improvement from day 2. Tear troughs were still a little puffy and were still very lightly bruised.

Day 4: I can almost rub my lips together after applying lipstick with no pain. Puckering is a little uncomfortable but still improved from yesterday. Only have one visible bruise left. Tear troughs are not bruised at all and almost all swelling is gone. I wore no makeup to work and my co worker actually commented that under my eyes looked much brighter. I probably could have done a little more to my tear troughs but at least I now know for next time.

I am in my mid thirties and as I have gotten...

I am in my mid thirties and as I have gotten older, my tear troughs have gotten darker and deeper. Never having had fillers before, I wanted a very natural look. I was really nervous after reading a number of negative reviews. However, I took the advice of the practitioner and avoided any blood thinners for a week before the procedure and took arnica tablets like it was my job. The procedure itself was not too painful without a numbing agent. That being said, I do have a fairly high tolerance for pain. Once my tear troughs were injected, half a vile was left so opted to try it out on my lips. I have extremely thin lips so figured what the heck. Like my tear troughs, I wanted a very natural look. The lips did in fact hurt much more than the tear troughs. Here is what I have experienced so far post injections.

Day 1 (day of injection): I was very sore and I swelled up quite a bit. My lips felt like they grew 3 sizes and it was a little hard to eat. My tear troughs were mainly red at the injections site and were also swollen. I iced every few hours and used arnica cream liberally. I rested the whole day and slept with my head elevated. I felt like I looked like an alien but I was assured it was not as bad as I thought.

Day 2: I woke up to less swollen lips. There were a couple small bruises on my lips but eating was much easier. My eyes were a little puffy and barely bruised. I was able to cover up the bruising with concealer and face powder. I still iced and utilized arnica cream. By the end of the day, more of swelling subsided but was not gone completely.
