I drove the extra distance and went to visit an experienced injector. The initial results were night and day difference, with only a little bit of bumpy unevenness. Given that the injections are temporary anyways, this wasn't a large concern as the area settles down soon enough.
It's been 16 months since and I still have some areas that are filled, although I could use a topper ;) Excellent value for the results!

The only reason this doctor doens't get the 5th star is the little bit of bumpiness that resulted, but this does settle down eventually.
