I am a mother of 2. My first was when I was 17 . I am 37 now. My second one is 6 years. MY first pregnancy did a number on me with stretch marks that went above my belly button and loose skin that I can never work out and do abs work out without ever losing it. It was fustrating. Both my pregnancies were via C-sections as well . Basically my stomach looked like something out of a Freddy Kruegar movie. hahaha So I always had that kangaroo pouch that bothered me for years becuase I couldnt wear certain dresses. Very insecure about my abdominal area but always loved being in a bikini but would hide behind my husband to walk in front and I would follow behind so no one can see me. lol pretty sad and funny at the same time.
I needed to do this for myself, and let me tell everyone who reads this . It was the best decision I have ever done.
My surgery was performed in Upland Calif. at Face N Body by Doctor Park . His staff was top notch and knowledgeable .
First day PO: let me tell you I couldn't sleep all night I was a neverous wreck . I had breast work done but this was scary I tell yeah. But the staff at Face n Body was so easy to talk to and they made it easy for me. Surgery was about 2 hrs and when I woke up I was pretty much bandaged up and was wrapped pretty tight with my compression garment.
First night: PAIN PAIN PAIN and very uncomfortable . My meds that were given to me were PERCOCET which didnt do nothing for me for some reason, and I dont know why I had such bad urges to go pee every 5 mins , it was annoying. I had two drains in and was emptying out under 25. I think that was annoying me cause the drains were very uncomfortable for me.
I slept on the sofa with 4 pillows behind me. and another pillow under my legs and getting up was pretty hard but I never asked for help . I didnt want to be too dependant on my family so I just did everything by myself.
PO day 2: Went to see my PS Dr. Park for checkup .removing my garment was the wierdest feeling ever. OMG I had the worst sensitivity and numbness that when pressure was applied I would crinch up and almost socked my PS . lol My meds were changed to Vicodin and that help my recovery fast. I was pretty drugged up every 4 hrs . I know i'm a big baby. lol
O also try to not cough. omg its like your insides are being ripped open and burns . SO try to hold yourself or put a pillow on you and hug it to give yourself some support and comfort when coughing.
Remembering back the first 2 weeks had to been the worst for me . I wasn't in pain but being hunched back for 2 weeks is very uncomfortable and not easy. From Experience I think if your working to take at least 3 -4 weeks off. Its not a walk in the park surgery unless your superhuman then I suppose 2 weeks is sufficient .
PO week 1 : drains were removed , I don't know why I was so scared taking my drains out but it wasn't bad . I didn't feel a thing. Removed both of them within seconds. also removed stiches from belly button and that was da worst ladies...I was sweating and crinching but dont worry ladies you wont feel a thing your sooo numb u wont even feel it but for some reason I kept thinking it will hurt and it didn't. My nerves at this point was still going buck wild and sensitivity kicked in full force . Any contact on my right side of my stomach near my belly button was horrible. I would just be like a cat that just heard someone scratch a chalk board . I don't know that is just how it was for me. Taking a shower was a challenge for me . It felt great but even the slightest water drops that would hit my right side abdominal would make me crinch and my muscles would tighten up. Dr. Park said it was becuase my nerves needs time to recover. I was really freaking out becuase I have heard horror stories that sometimes tummy tucks can ruin your nerves . SOmetimes it can last months to years. I was like great what have I done to myself.
PO week 2: alot of swelling and compression garment on 24x7. MY compression Garment was my buddy. I was so attatched to it . My diet was low sodium foods. I stayed away from seafood to avoid scars. Basically only chicken and veggies and light carbs. Being bloated and swelling is no fun ladies. So be on a good diet after your surgery. BY week 2 I was able to drive and go for light walks. I was still hunched back but getting better and moving a little faster then first week, but still was very tired and lots of fatigue. Being not mobile was making me depress so its normal . OH I also got all my stiches removed from incision to as well.
PO 3 weeks: moving faster then second week and sensitiviy was still there and strong. no more pain ,no more hunch back but stupid sensitivity and super numbness in full effect. BY this time I saw swelling go down alot more and finally saw a bit of shape to my abs.
PO 4 weeks : Sensitivity still there = ( but I found out that massaging the area where it is sensitive actually was helping.
PO 6 weeks: SENSITIVITY actually went away and back to the gym too as well. walking on the treadmill for 30 min with no incline and jogging.
PO 8 WEEKS: WOW TIME FLEW BY AND LOVING MY NEW FLAT STOMACH. IN LOVE .
I POSTED SOME PICS AND HOPE MY REVIEW KINDA HELPED and not to worry it will be all worth it in the end. It did for me. I couldnt be more happier !!!!
oh my scar .....I am using silicone sheets from CVS for Csection. I love it and its not so expensive and does the job and also using BIO OIL. MY mom has suggested using pure tumeric mix in water for a paste and apply on it . I have not done so but heard from old wives tales that it works the best.
