1 year post op + final thoughts

It's been over year since my last update! I haven't really had the time or energy to do a full review until now.

Anyways, I got home safe and sound after a LONG and exausting journey! First, we had to change flights in Miami and then in London. Oh, and they almost didn't let me on the final flight from London because I was walking hunced over. Tried telling them that everything was fine and that I've recently had surgery and had to walk this way due to that and that I was doing FINE. However, the flight attendant insited on calling a medical ... something at the airport and then talking to the captain in order to get his final approval of my boarding the plane. I was so fed up I almost started crying, lol. Just wanted to get on the last and final plane (which only took 1 hour!) after having travelled for nearly 24 hours!

Once I got home, I immediately went to see me primary care physician in order to get a thorough medical exam. She was totally shocked when she saw my big ass drain and stated that she had never ever seen something like it, lol. She then thought it best to remove the entire thing (thank God!) as the entire drain was blocked several places (for the 20th time). She, and her entire staff was even more shocked to discover just how long the drain tube actually was. Apparently it was way longer than normal (but what do I know?). It felt really, really good to finally get rid of that annoying thing. She then ran all sorts of test to make sure my vitals were OK and that I didn't have any contagious diseases or anything.

Fast forward, my results are overall alright, even though there is still some loose skin left, especially at the top of my tummy. However, what bothers me the most, is my terrible looking belly button and my t-insicion scar that is very visible. On a positive note, I finally have a waistline and the scar is really low (even though that's kinda pointless as it's still obvious that I've had work done because of the belly button and the t).

I do think I would have regretted it if I hadn't gone through with it, so in a way I don't regret my desicion. However, had I known what my experience would be like I would never, ever have gone through with it! If you're considering having this surgery (or any for that matter) done in the Dominican Republic, be prepared both physically and MENTALLY. It's no walk in the park (especially if you're not really mentally strong, which I'm not). I'm also really happy and grateful that my (now) boyfriend came with me and took such good care of me. I couldn't have done it without him!

I've attached some pictures (I've lost some more weight since my surgery as well). I'm currently in the process of finding a doctor who can fix my ugly belly button and t scar (I've tried all sorts of creams and lotions and patches, but there's only so much they can do). Most doc's I've seen charge the same amount for a scar revision as my entire tummy tuck cost, but hopefully it'll work out in the end! :)

update

I finally leave on Wednesday! Can't wait to go home! I was supposed to go to the clinic yesterday, but it didn't happen. Gonzales sent me a text on what's app 8.30 am saying I needed to be at the clinic by 9.30. I've told her several times that I don't have Internet in the hotel room, so needless to say I missed my appointment. Dra Robles had already left the office when I say the message, so I had to come back the next day (today).

When I woke this morning, I could feel some small lumps under my armpits, and my immediate thought after searching on google, I found out that swollen lymph nods are a sign of infection. After waiting for 1,5 hours at the clinic I finally got to see Dra Robles. She told me this was completely normal. I even asked her 3 times and had her feel them just to be safe. lol. Hope she's right. She told me my front drain was still draining a lot and that I had to go home with it. however, i don't really think it's draining that much, but whatever. then she had to drain my back as the seroma was back. it felt like i was peeing myself! I had fluid/blood running down my legs. so disgusting! she said i had to keep draining my back myself every time i went to the bathroom. wtf? it doesn't end here.. she THEN had to redo my belly button as the stitches were broken. luckily it didn't hurt. she said if i managed to drain my back my self, i wouldn't have to come back before i leave home. she didn't give me any instructions or anything on how to handle my front drain or seroma once I return home. I was so perplexed by the whole thing that I forgot to ask. I'll def be coming back tomorrow whether they like it or not for a final check-up before I leave.
