2 months Post Op

2 months has gone by already and it seems like it has been a lot longer. I'm still in the stage where I feel elated that I did this but also questioning if I did the right thing since I'm still not happy with my body. I'm on a quest to lose 47 more pounds and I started working out the day I got clearance from my surgeon. I have one more post op check up one month from now and I'm hoping to be in better shape before then. Overall I am happy with my results and only hope to improve. I may be seeking out a corrective rhinoplasty for my deviated septum and a thigh lift after I lose more weight.

3 weeks post op (almost) - I feel beautiful

This is such a mushy thing to say but I feel beautiful for the first time in my life. Being overweight as a child and teen I've never experienced what it's like to have a flat stomach at any point in my life until now. I still have swelling but it's gone down a lot and I love my results. I couldn't have asked for a flatter, lower or more shapely incision. My surgeon is the best. I sat down without my binder on and I had a cute little pooch with a cute little belly button looking up at me instead of unrecognizable rolls of dough and stretch marks. I was having a bad day and usually looking at myself in the mirror makes it even worse but today it brightened my mood and I instantly felt more optimistic about life. It's such a great feeling.

2 weeks Post Op - Drains Out!

My boyfriend flew back to California early this morning and it's already incredibly lonely without him. I was having some leg pains last night which I called and left a message about so they called me in to the office to see Dr. Cole today. She examined me and she thinks I am fine and I was able to get my drains taken out at today's check up which means this is the last leg of my recovery. I'm very excited about the results so far. I will be posting pictures when more of the swelling goes down. I imagine by week 5 I will be nearly back to normal.

Dr. Cole is a great surgeon -- very knowledgeable and professional. She made a very clean and shapely incision. I was impressed with the first unveiling by her assistant at my post op appointment. Dr. Cole called me the very same evening after my surgery to check up on me and answered my questions. Overall the experience has been very easy and comforting from start to finish. I would recommend Dr. Cole to anyone who is looking for a good surgeon here in Alaska. ***edit**** I'm adding this edit to my original review as it has been 9 days since my procedure and I've still not seen Dr. Cole for any follow up or aftercare. The staff at the surgical facility have been helpful and accommodating and meeting with her partner Dr. Manuel was very helpful when she wasn't available but it still would have been nice to have more contact with the surgeon I chose to do my procedure with. I still stand by my original statement that she is a great surgeon who has produced great results and a very attractive scar that I look forward to seeing the end result of.
