Post Op (day 15)

I was worried because I thought my stitches had to be removed but they ate actually the dissolvable ones so all went well. I healed up really well, but the scar looks scary! The nurse promised it'll flatten and will also be narrower in time.

The Dr. said I need to start rubbing the scar firmly in a couple of days. He provided me with a scar recovery gel and I had bought silicone scar sheets from CVS. I asked the nurse which method she prefers, she said the silicon sheets are very good. The ones I've are the kind you leave on for 12 hrs. I plan on using both. The box comes with 8 sheets, I already used 5 at ones... It's going to be very pricy if I can't even get two times use out of a box!

I asked when I can start bath, swimming, alcohol, exercise, and of course sex lol. Bath in two weeks, he said even though the scar has closed as far as we can see, there still may be a little opening. Swimming in four weeks, and everything else I can start now...

Binder, I still have to wear for two more weeks. Then start wearing the CG (which is arriving today) and the binder half a day each...and still recommended to wear the binder for about a month. But I should wear the CG for six months if I'm doing strenuous things..

All in all they were happy with my progress. I won't see them for another eight weeks since I'll be traveling, they didn't object... So I ended up going to the mall and picked up a cute jeans and a couple of sexy tops :-)

I'm still a little swollen...you see on the pics I used five sheets...

Drain removed 7 days post op

I got my drain out, it feels really good not having it. It wasn't painful but just uncomfortable. I actually cried when the nurse pulled it out, thank God I only had one. It was surprisingly painful but quick. I was a little swollen yesterday. I used hot pack and a little message, which helped. I've been sleeping propped up with legs elevated. Yesterday I decided to try and sleep normally, it was horrible! I got up all sore and miserable this morning. I guess my body isn't ready. I feel ok but not as good as I felt yesterday. Now I understand what some of the ladies here are taking about when they say, you've some good days and some not so good days :-).... I'm posting a picture drain free! :-)

5 days post op

Yesterday I was constipated for the first time, it was horrible. I took som stool softener and fleet and milk of magnesia before I went to bed. I got a good night sleep and woke up feeling great. I used the bathroom, which felt great. Because. Of the constipation and the fact I was feeling great, I decided not to take any med. in the afternoon I kind of "cleaned" a little around the house. Now I've the worst swelling ever. I didn't have any swelling before, and hurts like hell! I hope it goes away soon :-(

I researched for a very long time and I narrowed my choices to three doctors. I interviewed with those three Doctors with very similar credentials. I chose Dr. Sukkar because I felt very comfortable with him and his staff even though his price was about $700 more than one of the other Dr.s.
