Hi all,

I recently became 18 late last year and like many others, I decided to get a tattoo as soon as possible. I wasn't really sure of what I actually wanted to be inked into my skin for (hopefully not) the rest of my life and where about I wanted to get it done at. Although I did have a Maori tribal design I found on Google images in mind. I then decided to text my cousin asking him to forward me our distant relatives number who happened to do tattoos at home. I then got in touch with him asking if he was able to do a tattoo on me. I arranged to go around to his house the following day to talk about what I wanted done. Anyway I went over the next day and showed him the photo on my phone of what I wanted done. I decided that I wanted the tattoo based on the left arm starting on my shoulder and ending a quarter of the way down my arm. He then said he could design it at the time just to see what it looked like and then began to draw designs similar, in other words nothing alike the photo I showed him onto my skin with a biro, yes a biro pen. He then said he could start doing now and I don't know why I was so stupid but I agreed to getting it done. I guess I was just so hyped up for getting a tattoo and not thinking if the outcome at all. The session last around 2 hours including the time it took for him to draw it onto my arm and it cost me 50 quid. For the first few days, like most people, I was buzzing with it and thought it was great. About a week later and I had decided how bad and embarrassing it really was on me. At the time only the outline had been done and I thought it would've looked better after another session had been and gone. I waited about 5-6 weeks before going back for another 2 hour session for another 50 quid. Once again the first few days I was buzzing but as soon as that buzz wore off I realised how bad the tattoo was. I decided to pull out of the third session telling him that I couldn't afford it for the time being and would get in touch later on although I've never got back and don't plan to. Ever since I had it done I've been awake for hours at late night feeling depressed. I also began to dramatically change in my behaviour towards close ones and people I love such as my parents, sibling and girlfriend as I would tend to take out my aggression on them. At one point my parents actually thought I was on drugs until I explained to them what was making me feel so low. Finally they said it was enough and I needed help so they booked an appointment at the doctors for me to go to. I to the doctor how I was feeling and he advised me to get it lasered off. A few days later and I have planned and arranged on having my first tattoo removal session with laser treatment next week with a woman I got in touch with. I have been quoted at £80 a session and I am unsure if what the lasers are at the moment but I will try and let you know as soon as possible so that you all can give me some insight if you have any information about them. If this tattoo hopefully fades well enough after however many sessions then I'll be leaving it as that and not getting anymore, although if the tattoo is still visible then I am considering getting a big enough cover up of something that has actual meaning to me. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love tattoos and think they're amazing although I've made a terrible mistake and hopefully I can fix this with the treatment I receive. I've read a lot things saying that a tattoos fading can depend on many factors such as your age, age of the tattoo, your skin, the ink used and in general how healthy you are. These factors all seem to be in my favour which means it will hopefully fade quickly, not only this but also while I was being inked the tattooist said a few times that my skin was very tough and that it was hard for him to get the ink into it. Does this mean that the tattoo won't be as deep in my skin? As I can still feel the ink risen over the rest of my skin even though it has been over 3 month still I had this done. Does this mean that it will be easier for me to zap the ink out?

I will try to add as many updates on here as I can.
