I did it.
So I had surgery on July 14, making today my post op day 9. I will be the first to say that this recovery process is no joke. I knew that I would not bounce back over night but I did not expect it to be this rough. Ok, so let me go back.
Day 1 Was a breeze, showed up at the hosp everyone except the discharge nurse was pleasant and everything went smooth. My procedure took 3 hours and then I was on my way home. When I first woke up I did not feel any pain, in fact I was like I can do this, this is gonna be easy. Little did I know that I was so comfortable because I was given some extra numbing in the belly which lasted at least 3 to 4 hours into the next day. After that ALL hell broke loose. I was so extremely uncomfortable!!!!!!!! and of course the pain meds are not that great. well in my case they didnt do much at all for me). Anyways, I manage to push through. Its day nine and yes I am still very much uncomfortable, my days are ok but my nights are long, for some reason I cant seem to get in a comfortable position at night. I went for my first appointment 4 days post, Dr said everything looked to me healing nicely, my second appointment is this coming Friday I will be 12 days post and i am praying to GOD that I am able to get these drains removed. OMG, these drains!!!!!!!! please don't get me started on these things. I know they are necessary but the biggest pain you'll ever know.
