Terrible Experience with Invisalign Braces! Don't Bother - UK

Not Worth It
Spent: $6,500 in United Kingdom

Pros - Slightly better alignment of teeth

Cons - Cost, total waste of money

- LONG TREATMENT - 5 years and treatment remains incomplete - God forbid in 5 years.... you move country. Invisalign wipe their hands and new clinicians ask for MORE money. No aftercare or central co-ordination from the parent company.

- Dissatisfied with the final result - Could have achieved a better result with a different product that may have been more visible but treatment would have been completed and much sooner!

Tried Invisalign due to my public facing role in my career but regret this decision. I should have gone with a cheaper and more visible option. Don't try these overpriced gimmicks.

My Doctor: Name not provided

I was told that my treatment was complete and then became increasingly dissatisfied with the end result. When I attended another clinician for a second opinion I was told that too much time had elapsed since supposedly 'completing' treatment. Yet my teeth were not completely straight. You trust the opinion of a clinician and then feel so let down.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I've heard of other patients who had to move in the middle of the treatment and it sounds like a real pain. Did you have to start over or was it just a nuisance getting it sorted?

Hi Sharon, I have been asked for an additional $5000 AUSD to start 'another' course of treatment because I would need to be re-established as a completely new case! Really annoying and upsetting because I was told by my UK Dr that treatment was complete. I was dissatisfied at the time but was just about to move to Australia and he assured me that I should leave them to settle and he would place retention on the teeth when I next visited the UK. I became increasingly dissatisfied and obtained a second opinion from an Aus Doctor that said my treatment was not complete. In the meantime Invisalign tell me that too much time has elapsed since my last refinement so that even my original Dr in the UK cannot order more aligners.....Even if he was able to order more aligners the Doctor is required to make certain adjustments to your teeth during the treatment and he is 10,000 miles away. I am considering my next course of action because this is not the service you would expect if you purchased anything else for this sort of money. It isn't what I signed up for. As you can imagine - Invisalign and their parent company Align Tech have wound me up a little :-) As it stands, I can't afford to pay out for a second treatment and don't feel I should have to....
