My treatment went very smooth. I did it to correct a long nose and over-projected tip problems.

My doctor is a double ceritifed plastic surgeon with long years of experience. My rhinoplasty was done in a surgical center where I stayed under nursing care the first night post op.

Pain was mild and less than expected.

I had a primary closed rhinoplasty to correct a long nose & over-projected tip problem 1 month ago. My doctor told me that he worked on the tip and shortened my nose by trimming the caudal part of septum and trimming the cephalic part of the lower lateral cartilages. He says he made me a natural looking masculine nose and he is happy with the result. However, I have the following concerns: 1). My nose is still long espcially in the 3/4 view and nobody (family & friends) noticed I had a rhinoplasty after I return home 1 week later. What went wrong? Will my nose get shorter during recovery period? 2). My nasal bones were not broken because I had a small hump to correct. He only refined the hump. However I still ( 1 month post op) see a alittle-bruised hard hump. Will the hump smooth out with time? Thank You so much -- Updated on Mar 24, 2010: I need an expert to tell me if what my doctor did was the right correction for a long & over projected nose. Please address my concerns posted in my review. Thank you

The result wasn't satisfactory. Had a revision after 1 year and now I am overall satisfied .

Leason learned: nenver ever assume that the doctor will do what you desire. You better tell him exactly what you want (better in writing) so he is set accountable for the final result. These people tend to always blame it on YOU!

My Doctor: Name not provided

My rating:

He is a double certified with long experience. the operation: little pain with no complications. However, I expected much better results from the first operation. He didn't seem to me as a good listener because at the end he only does what he wants & thinks is right leaving you shocked only after the fact!

Hi, I was very interested in your questions above, because I had surgery two weeks ago and feel that we both experience(d) the same thing. I see your post was in March--- have you seen a difference now? I am a little worried too as the doctor did not break my bone either, but rather filed it down like yours, and he wanted to raise the tip. I still see a bump and at 3/4 view, mu nose looks long still. When I came out of surgery I took photos and it looked shorter and I am hoping the end result (down the line) will be like that. I am hoping that you are much happier with your results, and hoping also that with time, mine will look better - maybe time and patience is all it needs--- and a little faith in our surgeons. Thanks!
