6 week update and pictures

It's hard to believe it's been more than 6 weeks since my Mm! I feel great. It's only painful when I cough really hard or use my abs to sit up out of bed. My breast don't hurt at all. I tried doing push ups but it was to hard on my abs. I had a check up with my PS a few days ago and he said everything is healing well. I've started using DermatixSi gel on my scars twice a day. He also gave my the green light for exercise. He said no ab work, just pay attention to how I feel when exercising, if it's painful don't do it. I've started out with a 30 min interval walk/run on the treadmill and lifting some weights. It feels so good be exercising again! This past month with all the holiday food, Christmas, and get togethers, has not been good for my diet. I am so ashamed to admit I gained 6 lbs! How does one do that after spending all that money on a surgery like this?!? I thought I was going to be so much more motivated to eat healthy and lose weight! I guess I am but it's still hard. I did go back to my dietician this week and started a new program. I couldn't risk not going to her. I hate to have to pay more money when I know what I need to eat but it's that being held accountable and that weekly weigh in that is the kicker for me.

3 weeks post op

It's been about 3 weeks since my surgery. Getting that horrible cold/cough was a nightmare but now that I'm over it I feel so much better! I've been getting out of the house more, running errands, walking etc. Still have to be careful in my movements but everything seems to be healing well. I went to my PS Friday for a check up. I was a little concerned about how my breast were healing. There a little scabby. But he said it all looked great. I'll continue with putting an antiseptic cream morning and night on the incisions, and wear my binder 24/7. I go back on 3 more weeks.
As far as this surgery being "worth it" I'd say yes, however only if you realize how hard the recovery really is! The pain, not being able to sleep comfortably, the weeks of laying around being careful with your movements etc. etc. I can't wait until I can get back to the gym and my regular routine!

Recovery not going as I hoped

I started feeling great around day 10. Had a check up with my PS. Everything was looking good. Asked him about driving and getting out and about and being amore active. He have me the green light and basically just said the most important thing is listen to my own body. If feel I can drive, drive. I I feel up to walking more, do it etc. Well the next day woke up with a stuffy nose and scratchy throat. I could tell the dreaded cold I had been trying so hard to avoid getting was coming on! All my girls had been sick the week after my surgery. It hit me hard! It has totally wiped me out and now seems to have settled in my chest. I have been coughing so much. It hurts so bad every time though I try to hold my stomach it's just horrible. I couldn't sleep at all last night from coughing fits. My stomach is in so much pain now I feel like I'm back to po day 3. Cold/cough medicine doesn't seem to help. I'm trying everything to get over this! Lemon, herbel teas, honey, ginger, tumeric, garlic, all kinds if fruits and vegetables. You name it. Getting sick this soon after an operation is a horrible. I think I would be doing do well by now if it weren't for this dang cough. It's killing me. I go in to the PS Friday for a check up. I sure hope all this coughing isn't doing any damage!
