After gaining 50+lbs during pregnancy I have felt extremely unhappy and sad about the way that my body looked post pregnancy. I was 105 prepregnancy 158 post, and am now 142lbs. After waiting 8 years to be able finally afford my TT and breast life, my heart is overjoyed with the idea that my TT is only weeks away. I am here to meet new friends who are going through similar trials and to ask as many questions as possible about recovery etc. Wish me luck!

I was wondering if anyone has ever not had someone there while they were recovering. I have a ride home but for the most part will be going this solo. Does anyone have any tips or advice? I am really scared my surgery is tomorrow :( and I won't be having any help.

so i am currently IN LOVE with my breasts but really so so on the tummy tuck. mostly because my belly button looks GRRROSS. and i know i won't be able to cover that with underwear :(. I hop this gets better over time...also, when does this compression garment go away?! im already tired of it touching my skin...i think i will put an under shirt on UNDER my compression garment.

Hey Goldengirl! Are you getting excited? We are only weeks away and I just wanted to check in with you. I have spent the past few days reading about all of the daily post-op adventures of those who had their procedures done in the past few weeks and I now want to reach out to others who are anxiously waiting for our big day. Hope all is well and that you are staying calm.
Goldengirl0422 13 Dec 2010

Goldengirl,

Hi. I was just curious if you were going to be able to have both procedures performed at the same time. I gained lots of weight with pregnancies (baby is now 12-lol ), and I have worked hard to lose the last 40 pounds I felt like I needed to lose before going forward with surgery. I had a mastopexy with implants 12-8, and will have the abdominoplasty tomorrow, 12-13. Because of time involved with implants and mastopexy, my surgeon insisted on two separate procedures (which was fine). I'm a little apprehensive because of the severity of the pain the first 24-48 hrs after breast surgery, but he told my husband I would likely be more sore than anticipated because of all the stretching of skin he had to do. Best of luck with your surgery!

good luck today!!!

i also forgot to say, yes both procedures are being done at the same time, I wanted implants but was told no by my doctor as he doesn't believe that would be beneficial as I was worried I might lose cup size with the lift. but to answer your question yes I am expecting 6 hours of surgery in which I receive both procedures. my tummy tuck does not include muscle tightening though hope u are well thinking of you on this COLD december day.

Thanks for the post. Just checked out of surgical hosp and into hotel. (I live an hour away). Don't know if this info is helpful or not but recently a friend had a consult with a different surgeon who told her she could get by without implants by using her own breast tissue but she had to be willing to go from a C cup to smaller B cup.
Again, hope your surgery goes well. If you have any questions about my surgery feel free to ask. (Not that I'm an expert-lol)
Sunshine627 13 Dec 2010
Hey Kikibear, I can't believe that you just had your procedure today and you are already posting. You sound great! I too lost about 40 lbs and I am scheduled for my TT on 12-28. I will be having a breast lift at the same time. Please keep us posted on your progress and also consider starting a Review in the Mommy Makever or Tummy Tuck section. Happy healing!
Goldengirl0422 13 Dec 2010
well im just shocked ur up and moving on the computer it kinda gives me hope although my tolerance for pain might be negative 5 lol. yea i am thinking i will lose a breast cup size but i'm a DD right now so I guess being a D large C wouldn't be horrible :\ just something I have to get used to. ugh about living an hour away but i bet its kinda nice to be out of the house, does that let you get some nice me time? i know if im at home my dog and song will be DRIVING ME CRAZY. ahh all this talk makes me want to go clean so that the house isnt crazy when im in pain.
KikiBear 13 Dec 2010
Well, not quite a computer. I am using my blackberry in bed. But still feeling better than expected. Not too excited about the ride home but it could be worse.
That's awesome you can have both done at once. My husband said first surgery (on 8th) took a little over 3 hours which is about how long it took today. As far as cleaning, it's overrated. Lol. Tried to clean thoroughly before first surgery, knowing I couldn't clean prior to this one! Not sure how much good it did.
Congrats, too, on your weight loss. I think it is great motivation to keep the weight off once you've invested the time and money for a TT!

All the best ladies. I had my surgery Thursday 16th, first couple days was not good but I'm doing better. When I saw my stomach after the surgery all I can say is WOW!!! Fantastic.

Good luck tomorrow ladies.
