Worth It
Spent: $6,000 in Florida

I had a TT on Dec 15. Mainly to get rid of a botched scar from a ruptured appendix and remove excess skin from loosing 40 lbs.

When I woke after the 3 hour surgery-my Dr. informed me the scar was in the trash. I've never felt better! I had no nausea and very little pain. Went of the pain pills after 2 days. The dressings were removed the next day-(dissolve stitches) so i was using gauze pads with bacatrine and the AB binder. After 8 days, drain was removed (no pain there) and was down to using a face towel with the Ab binder (to create more pressure). Week 2 I had some fluid removed (some pain there) and was told to really take it easy. I am now into week 3, no fluid, a little swelling. BUT my stomach is beautiful, even, flat and my new belly button is adorable!

It bothers me to see how many others have had problems and pain! Here is what I recomend:

!. Research Doctor.....mine has been doing this for 25 years, it is his specialty, i knew some former patients, and he himself is in execellent physical shape.

2. Get in shape-i knew i would do this at beginning of year-so I worked out really hard, ate well, did a total body cleanse. Did not drink or take ANYTHING (aspirin, vitamins, etc.) for 2 weeks prior. And made sure I could be at home for 3 weeks.

3. To avoid nausea-really eat well up until the 12 hour cutoff. After surgery, I had whole wheat crackers with gingerale, then was able to take the pain meds. I made sure i took the pain meds every four hours.

4. I have been very quiet over the last 3 weeks-you must give your body time to mend.

How long was your scar in length? Did your abodmen "fall" over the top of your scar? I had a ruptured appendix at age 12 and have lived with a terrible scar that is sunken.

scar was 5-6 inches in length-and yes it was "sunken" with a huge roll over it. weight loss and tons of ab work-and it would never budge. it's really amazing now to look down and it's completely gone!

what kind of exercise are you talking about when you say you worked out hard? sit ups? Ive been walking for almost 4 years and my legs are great but my stomach sags from having five kids.

Thank you for your honest and helpful review of your experience. I recently did smart lipo and my abodmen has decreased in size. I am now wondering if my next step could be a tummy tuck. I still have a flap and the scar. I am happy with what I have had done but want more! Uh oh, maybe I am addicted! Thanks again!

I used Dr Peers in Goshen, Ind. By the way, I am even smaller yet today!

what doctor in florida did you use?

Sunshine who was the Dr you used? I really need to do this as the pull from the excess skin flap has actually been causing some back issues. The thing is I have three kids so both for budget and safety I want to be careful but still get good results.

Thanks!
