I am 46 (47 next mo.) a wife and mother of two grown boys. I used to be very athletic, and thin! After having two large babies, that all changed! I have raised my boys and I am ready to take back control of my life!

I am 5'7 and have recently lost 30 pounds, now I am left with alot of sagging skin.

I went for a consulatation for liposuction, and was told that a tummy tuck was the only answer. I didnt know much about TT surgery and am very grateful that I found this blog. After waiting two months,I am finally scheduled for surgery on July 11th!

I will be having a TT, arm lift, liposuction of the inner thighs and under my chin. I am very nervous and anxious, but I am glad to have found a website with so much support!

Wow, what journey. I am 10 days post op and feeling fair, although I got off to a bad start. I unexpectedly had to stay in the hospital for 4 extra days, had an heart arrhythmia during surgery and they wanted to keep an eye on me. This made the healing process a lot slower. I wasnt able to move around until day four, that made it hard to have much drainage. In fact the drains came out on day 5.
I am very glad I rented a hospital bed. It made getting up and down much easier as well as finding a comfortable position to lie in. Two days ago I moved back to my regular bed, and use a small recliner during the day. I am feeling sore, but have taken very little pain pills.I get the rest of my stitches out today. Moving around the house
is essential. Even hunched over, I feel better when I am moving. I would say the hardest part was choosing to have lipo of the thighs and upper arms at the same time. This has made it harder to get comfortable and take care of my new tummy. I have not decided if it is worth it yet, will post again after a month. God Bless!

Welcome Girlie!

Great job on the weight loss:)  Just a few more days of waiting and the new you will arrive.  I love to read about women taking their body and life back.  That is awesome and you deserve it.

I will be thinking about you this next week and sending good thoughts your way.  Do update us as soon as you are able to after surgery.

Also make sure to take the before and after pictures.  You will have fun seeing the changes that take place month by month.

Hugs

I agree with you 100% Carolyn. It took me all these years to get the courage to do something for myself for a change.

Glad to hear it is over the the recovery can begin! Scary though..hope you are okay!! I am 1 week post op today and feeling down because my tummy is so numb...hoping all the feeling comes back, but I know that nerve damage/numbness is a side effect of a tt. Hang in there and get better every day!!
