4 weeks post-op

Doing great!!! Next visit will be my 6 week check up.
Was released to start working arms a bit.
I can get in the water this week- pool and hot tub time and canoe trip!!!

3 weeks post-op

Going in today for my 3 week check. Still having some drainage from cross seam on right leg.
Starting to get sensation back.
Compression garments - graduating from the "monkey suit" (ankle to waist hook and zippers) to Spanx - still wear arm sleeves most of the time.
I had been using paper tape but am starting to try silicone strips on my arms since they are all healed up. Left leg is ready but not the right one so I'll wait on the silicone there. Trying to do a better job of recording that progress.

A slight slow down in recovery but it's going well

I had some drainage after the staples and stitches were removed. Which went fine - your op areas are still numb so it didn't hurt. I was so apprehensive about having 90 staples removed but it was a breeze.
I went back in and had a wick put in on Thursday to help speed up the drainage in the place that was open. I have one other spot that is draining. Same leg (rt) at the end of the incision down my thigh. I am putting maxi pads on them instead of gauze (I was going thru that stuff fast!) and more time with my bed. All is going well except this set back meant I was not able to travel to Texas with my hubs since they will remove the wick Monday and we wouldn't be back till Wednesday for my 2 wk post op. Oh well.

Dr. Mathers performed my tummy tuck and breast lift in February 2014. Because he set realistic expectations and then delivered outstanding results - he is the best! He has his own mini hospital above his clinic and required 24 hr aftercare - that is worth its weight in gold. Being able to receive care from his nursing staff overnight gave me great peace in knowing I could take care of myself properly once I got home. All of my post op visits were included in the costs - even those "can I come in for a quick check up?" just to give me peace of mind if I felt something needed looked at. Priceless. His entire staff is top notch.
