I am 47 years old. 5' tall and weigh 120. I finally lost 50pds this past year. My reward was a tummy tuck! Now I'm 6 weeks post full tummy tuck with extensive muscle repair!!!!! I have had no true complications at all. The pain though was so much worse then I expected. I had 2 C-section 19+ years ago so I thought I knew what to expect!! Boy was I wrong!!!!! My daughter stayed on the main floor with me for the first few days and nights! What a blessing she was!!!!!! The first day I was able to where my capris but on the 3rd day post op I couldn't even make it up my thighs!! Now I'm at 6 weeks post op and the swelling is just starting to go down but I feel very fat!!!!!!!!!!!! My clothes are tight and I am up 5 pounds!!!! I am going to start light exercising this week. I can't wait!!!!!! I wish I would of found this site sooner!!! I have been getting depressed re: the swelling. I feel so much better after reading that so many other people have it too!!!!! I will keep you posted on my progress. I went back to work after 3 weeks. I highly recommend 6 to 8 weeks off!!!!!

I am now 4 months post surgery and my swelling is almost gone but I do need a revision!!!!! I rather need some more skin cut off than have necrosis though. I am not upset with my surgeon because I am so small and I had sooo much skin. My pastic surgeon played it safe. I had twins almost 20 years ago and they stretch me to the limit!!!! I was 57" round and 60" tall!!!!!!! I started back at the gym a few weeks ago. I still can't do any abdominal w ork outs but YOGO has been awesome for me. The stretching feels amazing!

well glad you did find us and the swelling is normal, we all seem to have went thru some bad times when swelling started, i felt like the michelin man and was very aggravated at the same time and emotional, it did get better but i seemed like a soppy mess for a few weeks.

Hi Kathy, when was your surgery? Can you do any ab work yet? My tummy is still very tender and I feel I still need to wear support garmets.

annmarie, my surgery was May 9th this year and I am just now doing ab work and certain things make me sore, my doc said dont do anything that will hurt me, so i am very careful with it but am doing some ab work now, it took a long time, but liek they said your ab looks great, let it heal all the way, dont injure yourself as you dont want to mess up all the work, the ab work will wait......................

I went to kick boxing today. I felt like I had to hold my upper abs during most of the class but I didn't over do it. Maybe next week I will wear my support garmet. It makes me feel so much better to hear that you were sore and still are sometimes. I thought I must be ultra sensitive to still be sore. Thank you for sharing these things with me!
