My doctor did alar base reduction for me, but on one side he stitched it too tight so I have a big scar on the outside of one of my nostrils now. I am very self-conscious because of it, and wish I had never gone for this rhinoplasty!

This doc did not acknowledge the mistake he made. He does not charge anything for the initial appointment, so I consulted him first and ended up immediately booking an appointment too. I wish I had done more research and gone with a rhinoplasty specialist... I am very much in distress because of this, I have consulted other surgeons but they say if anything more is done to the scar, it may scar more.

I'm sorry you're not happy with your results. You might want to get some more opinions on the scar revision, or considering posting a question in RealSelf's doctor community (with a photo). Seems like there'd be something that could be done.
Also, we'd love a few more details about why you were seeking a rhinoplasty and what happened...
