“Pretty good but hurt like hell”

Thermage: Worth it

Cost: $2,000
Pain: Severe
Thermage satisfaction: Good3 Star Rating: Good

I had Thermage about 2 years ago and it hurt like hell. I had to have it done twice because after 6 months there were no visible results from the first treatment. My doctor admitted that it didn't do anything and didn't charge me for the second treatment. A representative from Thermage was there to supervise the procedure the second time. I took 2 Percodan and a valium and it still hurt a whole lot. However, I think I got decent results on my jaw line. I am 53 now and wanted to try something before going the facelift route - which I don't really need yet. I have since followed up with Titan as maintenance. That was 3 treatments (total $1425) and much less painful. Everyone says my skin looks great but I can see needing a little something in the next couple of years. Not sure if I would go the Thermage route again although there are new machines out there that are supposed to be much better. Would definitely use a different doctor. Mini lift next?

Would love to know where you had the Titan done, I'm saving up for that and that seems like an excellent price. I am in Pa and would be willing to drive to NY for the procedure.

Hi Martha, Phoebe and all: Glad to hear you had positive results with the Thermage. I am also in my 50's and live in lower Westchester NY. I would love to know where you went for the Thermage. I am convinced that it is the doctor (or "qualified technician" as is often the case) and the skill of using the equipment that makes the difference. Anyway, if you would share the doctor's name or the the group/salon you used, I would be very grateful. Many thanks,Kathi
