“The Laser Hurt Less Than Getting a Tattoo”

I’ve celebrated the birth of each of my two children with a tattoo. I’m not an especially vain person but I do like to look nice and getting tattooed was part of that. So was laser hair removal.

I’ve been embarrassed a few times on the beach when hairs have slipped out of the lower half of my bathing suit and, like every other woman on the planet, I’ve spent more than my fair share on razors and Nair for my legs and armpits. Two years ago I received a bonus at work and decided to go for laser hair removal so I wouldn’t have to worry about these things anymore.

The procedure didn’t hurt like I thought it would. There was a painful sensation as each spot was done but that didn’t last very long. Being tattooed was definitely worse, although getting prodded in the same area by a needle is obviously a different feeling than lasers all over your body.

The bikini line was the worst but it was the most necessary. I don’t like the look of being completely bald down there so I decided to leave a thin line of hair. Porn stars call it a landing strip. It won’t be noticeable on the beach but it looks better to me and that’s what counts. No navigational aids were necessary for my legs or armpits though so those are completely hair free!

It took more treatments than I expected and I still have to go back once a year if I want to remain completely hair free. I wish they’d invent something that permanently got rid of the hair but until they do then I’m happy with these results. It cost a lot and it took a while but that’s the price we pay for looking good 24/7. Might as well live a little!
